Besides the 600 a strategy race at its best. This year has been boring but was 05 or 06 that good no Last exciting season was 04.

Well I have found that it has been steadily going down hill bit by bit as each new year comes and they get more new fans who don't have a clue on what is going on they try to change a rule here a format to a race there so they can get the newbies dollars and forget about all of what was loyal fans who understand that this is the way it is.
It's a shame how they went about it but it is a fact. They were doing just fine before the newbie years.
Every race was sold out with one or two exceptions. Getting the big TV deal didn't fix that either. It was going from a day to night race and/or moving a race from the middle of the summer to April and October
I personally think that when Dale sr. died that opened the door for them to see just how screwed up they could make it and get away with it. I doubt if he would be able to of kept his mouth shut about some of the goofy stuff that goes on today.
The fines that they are handing out are just absolutly outragous. 100,000 dollar fine for the wrong bolt. 100 points off the driver total points for what a crew chief did is wrong. They think they have to watch what they say like the the H word or D word or you can pick others because you have kid listening and watching the races but in reality just sneak in the backyard and listen to the kids talk while they are playing. You may learn a new word or two. I agree with this one though to a certain point.
I sort of like the car of tomorrow though. Like I heard someone say that this car of tomorrow is more of a stock car than the ones they drive. Right now you can put a wing on the back of your car but the big spoiler is pretty much a big no.
They have lost my attention. I didn't waste my time on the 600. The all stare either. When I do watch them I watch the original Winston cup tracks and that is that.
These new cookie cutter tracks are for the newbies to be packed into to get their dollars. Sell them there over priced beer and sign them up for cell phones.
I am pretty much done with NASCAR.

I'm starting to get bored. I hate the chase format. I mean if a driver is out front by 350 points, he has to start all over with 10 races left. That sucks. Also, I hate the COT. Thats no stock car by no means. Try buying that thing at a dealership. Also, every year, nascar comes up with new rules. They just can't leave it alone. What if they changed the rules in football half way into the season?? It's starting to suck real bad. I liked it when they bought a car, souped it up and raced it. That was STOCK CAR RACING. This is BullS***. Oh. why can't the guy above me, get a life???

This year has seen some very close finishes, even with the COT. We will see closer finishes and more competition for Hendrick as the other teams engage in more unauthorized Hendrick-style testing.
As far as boring season, that's primarily because NASCAR has taken out a lot of the emotional leeway that the drivers can express to make the rivalries interesting. Its all media bluster and no real conflict.
And as far as wanting the inversion? Sandbagging is not racing.

Yes, the COT is ugly; no what it is what we call Fugly. But some of the best finishes and most dramatic ones have come from COT Races. Yes, it fugly, but I think the more Teams get dialed in with it, the more exciting the racing will get.
I can't comment about the Coke-cola 600 because for most of the race there was a major power outage where I live and had to listen to the race on PRN. By the way PRN's coverage was horrible. In the middle of the race they do a 5 minute interview with Junior Johnson.
NASCAR, Goodyear, and Lowes Motorspeedway need to get it together. Between the rule changes, compound changes, and banking changes that are constantly going on with that track; it's making it harder to not only race there; but keep the car on the track.
To Lowes Motorspeedway....leave the bloody track alone. Changing the track every single year is rediculous; same goes for those idiots out in Vegas.
Goodyear.....if the tire doesn't work, make one that does.
NASCAR.......if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I've posted so many questions and answers pertaining to this that I'm worn out on the subject. I am in total agreement with all you've said. The All Star race was a joke. Yes the format was terrible. The pre-race ceremonies were the worst I've ever seen.
Nascar seems intent on fixing things that don't need fixing. They've obviously never heard the saying that "if it ain't broke... don't fix it"
The France royal family claims that they're doing all this for the fans, while in actuality... it's all about revenue. King Brian has turned Na$car into a dog & pony show who's only concern is the all-mighty dollar.
I'm in total agreement with Tony Stewart. It's becoming like pro wrestling. He speaks his mind, and is penalized, supposedly, for not showing up at the post race interviews
under section 12-4-A. Actions detrimental to Na$car. We all know this is a bunch of bull. He spoke out against Na$car, and and Na$car retaliated. I wonder why Brian France wasn't penalized under that same section 12-4-A when he drunkenly drove his car into a tree. Wasn't that detrimental to Na$car???
I'm fed up with Na$car acting like "Big Brother" I'm fed up with watching more commercial than race. It's not about us fans any longer... it's all about how deep in our pockets they can get.
In case nobody knows... The France family OWNS Na$car. It's a family OWNED business. They control everything that has to do with the sport. You win if they want you to. You lose if they want you to. Speak out, and they'll slap a muzzle on you.
As far as I'm concerned, the biggest single violator of their section 12-4-A is Na$car itself..

That would be a accurate statement.
Of the first dozen events the Charlotte 600 race Sunday was the best of the year.

Ugh!...I can't stand racing any year, but that's only because I live within earshot of Lowe's Motor Speedway and am trapped at home every year by the tens of thousands of cars that clog up my neighborhood roads. It might be kind of fun if I were close enough to walk to the Speedway and check out the funnel cakes and BBQ, but I'm too far to walk, and too close to be able to leave home. It sucks!
