If you have placed a person within your heart with love, then, it is through the Holy Spirit that you can sense the love remaining with you of your loved one...
As for "ghosts".....the way man conceives of an evil spirit, then, yes, ghosts are real.....but not from Believers whom died, for their spirits are with the Father after they die and do not remain here on earth, nor do they "contact" you after their death....
"ghosts" are lost souls and demon followers of satan....a demon of hatred, for instance, will stay at a site where they have caused evil, feeding on what they had instigated...whether the site is an actual place or person, they will not leave until authority kicks them out....then, they freely wander till they can feed on the very thing that makes them strong, in this instance, it is "hatred"......however, once they are swept out of a person's life, they are very eager to return if a door is left open for them to do so...whether it is a living being or a place.
God's children are given the means neccessarry to defeat these principalities, and these unholy things should not be taken lightly.

I believe that when we lose a loved one, especially someone very close like a parent or lover, they - their spirits - do stay near us to make sure we're all right and comfort us in their way. As we recover from the loss, they move farther away, but when we think of them or miss them, they come to be near.
As far as ghosts are concerned, that's something completely different. I know they are real, but they're not staying nearby by choice. They are an earthbound spirit. They don't know how to move on or are afraid to try, or have unfinished business. This to me isn't the same thing as a loved one staying near. Loving spirits should be welcomed - ghosts need help to pass on.

No, in ALL history there has NEVER been ANY verifiable evidence to even suggest that spirits or ghosts are real. There have been many serious and sophisticated scientific studies conducted which hoped to show otherwise, but all have indicated that souls do not exist.

I believed when I lost a beloved one, some part of their personality was still here, despite not physically being here where I could see and hear them.
My belief is that they're not standing over you while you're in the kitchen with a smile... that's kinda creepy... I think of my beloved one in pictures, the littlest things like pet peeves, their tastes and dislikes, etc. It's not a spiritual thing; it's more like remembering them.
No, ghosts don't exist.

No. When you are dead you are dead. There's no such things as ghosts and spirits. They are an inveted concept to 'prove' the afterlife.

When you lose someone, there are no spirits or Ghosts, God is there, however, he is holding you in his hand. (John 10:29)
