A recent Rasmussen poll shows that 35% of democrats believe Bush knew about 9/11 ahead of time and was involved in the attacks. There are more and more professors and celebrities, like Rosie O'Donnell and Charlie Sheen, believing the US was involved or set up the entire attack. Do you think in 10-15 years so many people will believe this that school books will teach our children several different theories about what happened on 9/11 to not offend anyone? Is history in the process of being rewritten?

Kari, i dont know exactly how the poll was done, but i'm pretty certain it was conducted in scientific manner. rasmussen is one of the most respected polling firms in the country, along with gallup, zogby, opinion dynamics, and quinnipiac univ.

Matt, lets hope that all the here say doesn't change history. Khalid Sheik Mohammad planned the attack. And Osama Bin Laden financed it. Lots of innocent Americans lost their lives because these people thought that we all needed to be living in caves. God bless, and let us all remember those who lost their lives that day. Dont forget the truth, especially today.

First, let’s get the full truth out. In clicking on the link above, you can see that Republicans do not think that Bush knew about it by a 7 to 1 margin. NOTE EPSECIALLY: Overall, 22 % of people think Bush knew about 9/11. That means a staggering 78% of people do NOT think Bush was involved.
Secondly, even the 28 % is further diminished by the fact that over 50% of Americans believe that at least one paranormal idea is literally true! (Tarot, Astrology, Psychics, etc). So public opinion shouldn't impress you too much.
Thirdly, there are utterly no professors of engineering or demolition who believes the 9-11 conspiracy theory in a published scientific journal. None. Maybe Rosie does, but last I heard she's not a professor of engineering.
So I wouldn’t hold my breath to see the conspiracy theory being taught in school. It’s dead, and the experts have made it so. They are not going to change their mind.

Matt, I'm a life-long democrat, and cannot believe that a poll shows that percentage of us thinking Bush knew and was involved. How was the poll conducted? Anyone with a background in statistics and sampling knows that how a poll is conducted predicts the outcome.
I agree with Hasdad62 that Khalid Sheik Mohammad and Osama Bin Laden are to blame, along with all the executors of the plan, and those people from the muslim world who knew in advance and condoned it through their silence. It was a horrifying attack and certainly no one in the American government could have known anything about it.
I hold Osama Bin Laden, Khalid Sheik Mohammad, and other terrorists involved to blame, and I think history will reflect that.
Again, I am a life long democrat.

It's hard to believe that any sane person would believe that an American President would know about the potentiality of such a horrendous act against the US, much less mastermind it.
I'm a Republican but I certainly don't believe that President Clinton was behind the attacks against our country while he was in office any more than I believe that President Bush was the behind the scenes perpetrator of the 9/11 tragedies.
Osama bin Laden proclaimed responsibility for the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the people who carried out the plots were his followers. Why would the textbooks of the future contain anything different?
As for Ms. O'Donnell or Mr. Sheen or any other under-educated, over-compensated, self-proclaimed voice of the people -- they are entitled to have their own opinions. If they don't like the way in which the country they live, which gives them the right to express their bordering on insane diatribes on national television without arresting them for treasonous staements, they can also afford to hike their unhappy fannies to a country more suited to their personal tastes. The sooner the better, in fact!

All I can stay is that the Rasmussen poll proves that a disproportionate number of mentally ill people are Democrats. Rosie O'Doughnut is a raving loon who should have her picture in the dictionary as a personification of the word "stupid." Charlie Sheen is a cowardly punk wife beater whose inane opinion on any give matter is fraught with idiocy.
I loved Thomas G injecting "John Edwards" into the discussion. A real man of the people. A guy who gets $55,000.00 for giving an anti-poverty speech entitled "Poverty, the Great Moral issue Facing America." Good lesson for the suckers in attendance on how to avoid poverty. Nothing like a hefty speaking fee to drive home your point.
Gee, isn't scottmcdonald21 below really adorable? He states that there were 2 747's. He doesn't even understand the basic facts and he's commenting on this.
Ah, the Republican party also has a few wingnuts. Read True Patriot's post below. He assures us that there were internal explosions. He asserts that it would take hours for the steel to heat up. Never mind that JP5 burns at 1700 degrees. Never mind that there were probably 7000 gallons in each of the planes. The only thing that would take hours to heat up are the brain cells of the nuts who subscribe to all this "implosion theory" stories. The implosion theory is the stupidest one of them all.

I think it is natural for Americans to question government. Our country was founded on the idea of freedom from a tyrant nation. We were not to fond of the British Monarchy at that time. As a nation we have always assumed the worse of our government.
Now, I think the whole Hate Bush thing will disappear after time. There will be a movie or book out that will catch our attention. The idea that a setting president willfully let 3000 citizens die just to start a war will be looked at and people will have a good laugh. It will be viewed as a horrible incident and a lot of the political stuff will be forgotten. I think people will see this period of time as a turning point in our history. Not as a vast conspiracy by our government. There will still be those out there claiming Bush did it but it will not matter because Bush will not be in office and the media will not care.

Well to answer a few peoples questions about this issue. First I am a republican. Second, Yes Bin Laden did claim responsibility. However, Bush did have a part in the orchestration of the 9/11 attack. For the following reasons I make this statement. During the Russsian invasion of Afghanistan we trained Osama Bin Laden. This is really no different than what happened with Japan during World War II, we basically supplied them the bombs used in the attack on Pearl Harbor, because it was our scrap metal that they used to make them. But, our government was un aware of Japan's intentions. In the case of 9/11 though, there is sufficient evidence to show that our own government was involved in the attack.
1.) In fact, much of the content of the Patriot Act was based on a report by the bi-partisan Hart-Rudman Commission on National Security/21st Century, issued on September 15, 1999 two years before 9/11.
2.) In the amount of time that it would take all of that steel to heat up and become weak enough to drop straight down and create the so-called buckling effect of the lower support beams, would have taken hours. Yet, the towers collapsed in less than 30 minutes. This was definitely a pre-planned demolition. With pre-placed internal explosives. Watch an original copy of the news tape (if you can find one) and you will see an implosion not an explosion about forty (40) stories below where the plane struck the tower.
3.) The Bush and Bin Laden Families have been friends and involved in business dealings for years.
Bush, is a disgrace to the Republican Party and to the Presidency of the United States. And, why is it that, Congress has not called for his impeachment? They wanted to impeach Nixon for stealing documents, and Clinton for having an affair. Why, not impeach Bush for intentionally deceiving the American people for the purpose of allowing our government to do exactly what our grandparents fought against in the European theatre against Nazi Germany.
I saw all of this coming when the United States government used the Mandatory Seat Belt law to test it's theory on being able to passively control the American public.
Now, with the USA PAtriot Act of 2001, our Bill of Rights is Null and Void. A police officer can stop you walking on the street and ask for your ID. Hmmmm, sounds familiar to me. Oh, yeah......"Where are your papers?!!" - Gestapo Officers, 1942-1945
The American people need to wake up and smell the coffee, and remember, our government is supposed to be a, "government of the people, for the people and by the people!"
Stand up for your rights and contact your Congressman and Senator and request for the repeal of the USA Patriot Act of 2001! and "Bring OUR TROOPS Home!"

The Warren Commission's "Rush to Judgment" on the Kennedy Assassination forever branded the government with credibility doubts and problems. The Bush/ Chaney administration's secrecy, arrogance and contempt for honesty scars their believability as equally suspect. Remember their refusal to be recorded in writing , sound or video ( on several issues) leads to speculation and distrust, and searchings for the Truth. The history of every national crises is constantly under scrutiny, it is neccessary and wise that history is rewritten.

If most people choose to believe the media and Rosie O'Donnell and her ilk, we will be speaking Aramaic in 30 years. Bill Clinton also knew about Osama Bin Laden and Al Queda and , either chose not to act, or didn't want to commit political suicide as George W, Bush has done..The future events will decide what is written into those school texts, depending on who is doing the writing.

Eventually people will blame middle-eastern terrorists like they do now and will assume every person following the religion of Islam is a terrorist. These idiotic terrorists are giving all muslims a bad name they probably account for less than 2% of the muslim population and now the other 98% look bad. I'm tired of these people claiming to be muslims and I hope the truth is told. Terrorists did the attacks, not muslims.
