On the infinity basslink powered subwoofer, there is a spot to connect a remote dial to change the level of bass.... my question is can I just connect the remote wire from my head unit to control everything and not use the other remote? thanks

You're mixing up the two types of remotes. The remote output on your head unit should be connected to the "remote" terminal, next to the power and ground terminals on the Basslink. It has the job of turning the Basslink amplifier on and off as the radio turns on and off.

The dial remote and cord should have come with the Basslink; if you don't have it, don't try hooking anything else up to that plug.

What are you saying doesn't make sense. The remote wire on the basslink is like a phone cord. And I'm pretty sure your radio doesn't have any phone cord type wires behind it.

But anyway the answer is NO. That bass remote wire is only for the basslink and cannot be hooked up to anything else. You will just have to live with a separate bass level cotnrol remote.

If your head unit has 3 pre-outs, including a sub control

Here's what the features on my head unit say:

"Two pairs of line-out terminals with one as a selectable subwoofer for level and frequency control"

Most audio equipment comes with complete instructions. If you have done installs before you should have no difficulty.
