I think the problem has its roots in those who approach religion dogmatically; those who try to exhibit an air of superiority because they have faith.
One can have both faith and science; wisdom results in knowing the limitations of each.

A mothers breast milk for a baby can not be replicated exactly. The reason is that there is something God places in it to help with a baby's immune system that has not been able to replicated by science or doctors. Even though they have done a really good job making formula the doctors will tell new mothers to try and get the baby to nurse for a least a month because the breast milk has so much more than the formula and it will help there baby so much more.
God is God and science has it's place in the world HE created.

I think that makes you a far more rounded and sensible person than people who go extreme either way.
Science cannot explain love, or what happens when we die, or why we feel compassion towards others.
Religion on the other hand can give us ideas about these things, but cannot accurately explain the more physical aspects of life.
I personally believe that most of why our society is so messed up is that we separated science from spirit.

Well...
Since no one answered your question...
Most religious believes go contrary to Science because they have precepts on how the world was created...and how life works...and those perceptions are contrary to what Science says.
And many MANY religious people have a problem (1) believeing they are animals... (2) believing they evolved from apes...
Lastly, science teaches you (indirectly, if not directly) that it is unlikely that there was supernatural help in creating the world. Everything is random...
+++
And to those people that say science doesn't answer everythingl...
Well you are right...But science has answers for many many things...and non of their answers have ever pointed to magic.

Because that is what they hold onto for one of the invalid blurts they use frequently "Go read a science book!!"
Most Christians believe in science, they believe in archaeology, they believe in Dino fossils. They even do archaeological research that has validated, people of scripture, places in scripture, and scripture itself, uncovered ancient tombs and what not.
But as you point out, science is not the END ALL, it lacks some very crucial answers.

I share your viewpoint. Life isn't just black or white. It all combines and forms lots of groupings and colors. Science and belief in God are perfect partners.

I agree, my religious beliefs in no way contradict Science. In fact, Science is proving my beliefs more and more every day.

I agree. I don't see why it has to be only one or the other. Nothing is so cut & dry. I think the science is actually our evidence that the Gods did it.
