When i was that age, my mum used to organise crafty things for me, and i loved it! Painting and playdough and stuff was cool. Lego keeps them amused for hours.Also things like trips to the park or the zoo. Movies...bike riding. Lots of little activities that will keep kids not only amused, but feeling satisfied that they've achieved something!

The previous two answers are great. But a 10 and 8-year-old should be able to entertain themselves just fine. And it is okay for them to "be bored." They will appreciate their boredom when they are incredibly busy. Plus you need a break, why do you have to be the constant source of entertainment? You do so much for them already.

A movie, trampoline, swimming, a day at the park, rock climing, bike riding, a visit to the beach, a small blow-up pool. There are so many possibilities!

Honestly girl... ask them what they like to do.
But, entertain them how? Like indoors? going places?
Rainy days?
This might not pertain to the answer you're looking for, but when I was around 9(bro was 11), my mom used to take little stickers... like the kind hanging with all the hallmark cards... and she would hide one.. EVERY DAY.. somewhere in the house... like in the backside of the lamp, fan blade, dresser knob... wherever.
And whoever found it would put it on their name card(index card, or whatever). the first one to 10 would get a prize.. candy, $5, movie ticket ... whatever floats your boat!
It pretty much worked out to be about every two weeks... someone would win. I was not going out without a fight!!
LoL .. something fun to do. I loved it... my mom did this until we started high school...

make a puppet show using you chin.
i dont know how its called if there's a name for it,but you use your chin and draw a nose and some eyes on it, and come up with a story to start talking, those are really funny!
