Get rid of the food, or surround yourself with healthy food(celery, etc). You won't eat if it isn't available. Find some things to do. Make a plan to rearrange your room, get involved with a youth group, join a sport.

12 isn't overweight, 14 or 16 is the UK average - loads of people would love to be a 12 so you don't need to lose weight.
But if you realise you eat when you're bored, not just hungry, you could try finding something else to do with your hands, and something to fill your time so you don't get so bored. Is there a craft hobby you're interested in? Would you be interested in reading, or learning a new program on your pc or something? Try something like that.
And stick to healthy snacks. Stuff like baked tortilla chips, salted popcorn, apple sticks or whatever isn't like eating crisps or biscuits.

When you feel like you are hungry go and have a drink instead. The brain sometimes confuses hunger with thirst. So, have a drink, wait about 20 minutes & then if you are still hungry go and eat a small snack, say a piece of fruit.
Also as you're bored find an interesting hobby to keep your mind off things. Or get out the house where there's no food & go for a walk!

I use to do that. I would get home from school then turn on the TV and I would get so bored that I would go to the kitchen and eat as much as I can. What I do now is try to stay entertained. I run in place, chew gum, do homework, read a book, anything to keep me entertained.

I do the same thing, and the best things I find for keeping away from snacking are 1. Cleaning, I generally dislike it, but once you get started you have detergent on your hands so you can't eat! 2. Put your earphones on and sing, corny I know but it works for me and I could use the practise. 3. go for a walk - but not to the store to buy food! or go up and down the stairs a few times to get your heart going. 4. Get rid of all the things which you are tempted to snack on and have plenty of fruit and vegetables to hand. Good luck!

Try to drink more water - it's good for you, will fill you up and has no calories! But if you do fancy a snack try to eat a fruit or nutritious cereal bar, dates, carrots that sort of thing. Also regular exercise will burn off any extra calories that you are consuming so at least you won't put on any extra weight.

Try and keep yourself busy so you don't get bored. Go the gym, go out with friends, or if you do want to snack its not all bad, just make sure you have healthy options available, raw carrots, fruit, raisons or nuts. The best advice I always think though is don't be too strict... every now and again have a packet of crisps or a choc bar, people that try and cut all their favouite things generally fail... just be sensible

Okay, at this time its vital to have a little self disipline. Heres my workout schedule, i have a small waist, but my upper body is built well.
For the stmoach, when your at house watching tv, do 20 sit-ups for every series of comericals. Every week increase that number by 10.
This really worked for me, and after one week you get yourself into a routine and you will do the workout even thinking about it.

Have you tried keeping your self busy when your bored. Maybe go for a walk, if you have a dog then take the dog for a walk. Maybe try some sit ups, by your self a skipping rope and skip in the back garden?

Your body sends mixed signals of when its hungaray or thirsty.. first drinkk some water to see if thats what your body wanted, if not go for chewing gum or a light snack... and make sure that you arent watching TV when eating, it makes you forget your eating and then your hungary again.. also remember to slow down when you eat
