The problem with following your heart is that it is impossible to be objective. You should try to follow reason, which is objective. But, a person's reason may not always be sound and true. Therefore, an open mind and research is required. Never be afraid to change your beliefs if you have been convinced that your previously held convictions are erroneous.

I follow what I believe.

And I may reject the religion, if it's something I really can't tolerate. (Moreover if it's not the only conviction that is at stake).

I feel sorry that you seem to live in a country where people are obliged to follow a certain religion, even if they don't (fully) agree with it.

By the way, while I was brought up as a Christian and still have some bonds with it, I'm looking for a religion that is more convincing and has less flaws, so that I could embrace it...

(No, Islam is definitely not the religion for me...)

Religion should be about walking a path to a higher understanding of yourself and your place in the world. Speaking as a theologian for nearly twenty years, most of the world's religions espouse the same core beliefs and simply change the names around a bit. As long as what you want to do doesn't harm another, or yourself, even potentially, you should definitely consider it. As with all choice, it is in your hands.

I would do what I have already done. Followed my heart. I grew up Christian and because I don't believe the Bible is the word and because I believe religion is the root of most evils, I decided to love God in my own way.

I would not decide on either until I have conducted sufficiently in-depth research on the soundness (or the lack of) of the religion. I have been doing such a research for the last 43 years and have yet to find a compelling answer.

I will follow Jesus Christ not any religion. Sure I attend Baptist Churches. That is mainly because that is what my parrents took me too before I was young enough to remember. I am satisfied with the overall beliefs of the Baptist but I do dissagree with some of their beliefs. Overall I still follow Jesus.

Well if some bloke or woman standing in a pulpit told me something I didn't think measured up to what was obvious to me from Biblical teaching then I wouldn't take any notice. If it was not obvious then I would look into it and possibly if I knew them challenge them on it.

CULTS always say they know the truth about the truth by the way. If they don't encourage you to seek Jesus for the truth but rather seek them or their organisation WATCH OUT!!!

By the way your Avatar is a bit fishy

Don't always follow what is said is right. Research the Bible and concordance to find out the truth. Some things my pastor says I really don't agree with, but that is OK. most I do and I follow along in the Bible, I follow what the Bible says and I feel in my gut, that is what the Lord is telling me, if I am Christian.

I would follow my religion as if I am a blind guy and the religion is showing me my way, when ever religion goes I would follow.

you are confusing the issue Jesus said that true religion was looking after the widow and the orphan ,God is interested only in your heart not the outside or your belief ,so to answer your question ,the two (heart+religion)would be in total union,(agreement)your conscience would be warning you ,be careful looks can be deceiving .cu
