The true IRS was 68 and later except in Europe where it came in around 72 but only on certain ones.

If you're asking about Independent Rear Suspension, then ALL of them did. There were a couple of different rear axle configurations, but all air-cooled VWs had independent rear suspension, from 1948 to the end of production.
