Follow up.. I know that someone said that the stand of creation was made up in "prehistorical" or "pre-literate" times. If that was so, why was the Bible able to be written if no one could read or write?

I think it is great.... there are two major theory's on the creation of the universe, and people should be able to see both, and make up their own mind.

The Christian theory should not be left out.

Since The Bible was written, science has proven so many things in it. So many prophecy's have come true. There are a lot of indisputable facts in it, and they deserve a museum for people to see and learn more about that point of view.

Those people have no business calling themselves scientists or their museum a 'science' museum. They do not use the techniques of science - they are claiming something that is not testable or provable, something that has no evidence for it. They began with a conclusion and set out to prove it - that's not how science works. They have conducted no research and published no results. You don't go straight from 'I have an idea' to 'let's teach it in elementary school'. First you need to present your idea, back it up, get it accepted in the scientific community, answer all the conflicts, and then, after all that, maybe you get it into schools. Look how long evolution took to be taught in schools. The creationists are completely ignoring the process of science and just claiming they have it. Sorry, doesnt' work that way.

It's tremendously silly. It's funny - if somebody opened a museum showing, "scientifically", how certain races are natural masters and certain races are natural slaves there would be a _huge_ uproar. If someone opened a museum showing, "scientifically", how the Earth is a flat disc carried on the backs of 4 elephants who stand on the back of a giant space-going turtle, there would be much derision. But this stupidity gets a lot of semi-approving press and a lot of "It's good for all theories to be represented" baloney. What about my theory that God created the Earth by accident and now uses it to separate the smart people (who go to join him in Heaven) from the idiots who will believe anything (who have to stay here). That's not represented in schools, and neither is the equally scientific Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. So much for "all sides of the argument".

"In The land of the "FREE" ...everyone is free to believe what ever they want or need to.
Even if it is misguided and not supported by any empirical evidence.

If this Museum gives some people a place to go to contemplate their "navel" then so be it.

I would much rather have a "museum" of _______(whatever) than an environment where Museums are sanctioned and censored by some "committee".
Let the guy and those than need to "prove" their theory have an out let for expressing those ideas.
If you don't particularly agree....then don't buy a ticket.

BTW - What I personally believe is not relevant here

It's a $25,000,000 scam that's intended to (a) take money from unsuspecting, uneducated people ($25 for admission I understand) and (b) promote mythology developed thousands of years ago by pre-scientific (pre-literate) human societies to answer what were (note past tense) then un-answerable questions.

While it's not illegal to lie to people in the guise of "freedom of religion," it should be. Think about it this way... Would our society tolerate fraud on this scale in any industry other than that protected by religious freedom?

They have the right to think any way they want. The nuts from evolution think they are right and also should be able to, but the truth is in the middle.

Its interesting that it exists at all, but as science, it is a joke. They want science to belong to them, and science belongs only to science. Submit the ideas presented to a peer-reviewed process, and they will be torn apart. Its an oddity, but it sure as heck ain't real science.
