too much to explain but start with this:
written is marks on paper
spoken is sound waves in the air generated by vocal cords.
written comes through your eyes (usually)
spoken comes through your ears.

Language is not the same as writing system. So, while it is surely true that aspects of real (i.e, spoken) language change over time, and that they are (in some unknown but widely-believed-in way) suited to their speakers, this does not apply to writing systems. They're much more stable, being effectively technological standards and not subject to biological evolution. Latin is a great example. It was the written language for millenia after it stopped being spoken, or changed into other languages. And the spelling didn't really change all that much.

Written needs to be more precise because there is no voice inflection or facial expression to indicate if something is meant to be humorous as opposed to serious. It also needs to be more precise because the ability to ask questions is not there in the same manner as it is when you are speaking with someone.

Spoken English is usually less formal and may have various slang words or expressions in it which most people would not write. Colloquial expressions are usually not used when something is written since you don't know who will be reading it.

When something is written it is usually better organized and thought out than when it is spoken.

Regional dialect nuances. For instance, Boston, or south Carolina, OR Louisiana. All have dialects specific to region, even though they may write a sentence exactly the same way.
