I have problems with trying to get shy girls comfortable. Not to sound arrogant, but the girls who like me tend to retract, expecting me to chase after them (they show blatent signs that they like me).
How would you suppose I can get a shy girl to be comfortable without stooping to kissing their asses?

Wow, are you sure you don't mean to sound arrogant? I say stop chasing them all together. You don't really sound worth it. Go for the easy girls and let the nice guys have the shy ones.

If a girl is special to you, hun, you are suppose to pursue her. Forget that stuff......."but this is 2007, not the dark ages." A girl that comes after you, is gonna want to dominate the relationship and have you jump thru hoops, etc. she's gonna want to "wear the pants." A good chance that she will be very self-centered.
The shy girl, however, will let you phone her for a date, [as it should be]. So, of course, it's your place to call her for the purpose of making the arrangements......date and time to pick her up. Just make "small talk" you don't have to "visit" on the phone and then hang up. Shouldn't take more than 10 or 12 minutes. That's it.
On the first few dates, you can talk about yourself, your interests, what ever you want her to know about your self. Be attentive of course. Don't worry about any lull in the conversation....like the guy above said, look at her and smile. Have a good joke to tell. Talk about a good movie, enjoy the date. After three dates, maybe she can open up and feel more comfortable to talk about herself some.

You may not mean to, but you sound very arrogant. I'm guessing you don't like to chase. You feel it's a waste of time and just want to get to the reward at the end. Guys like that are exactly why women make us chase them. If you get distracted too easily, they know you're not really that interested in them. But hey whatever works for you.

Tell them a joke (after you've sussed out what kind of person they are).
If you like to think you have a wide repertoire of jokes in your collection (or like to think of yourself as a good joker), then after sussing them out, you should know what would be funny (and right) to say and what wouldnt.
Obviously, if your still getting to know the girl, telling her a joke she might feel uncomfortable with would only make things worse. Thats why i say get to know them and what kind of humour they enjoy.
Edit: Being yourself helps too, but sometimes from experience if i were too Raw when it came to my jokes it could easily offend.

how do you kiss their *** if you don't stoop? Do you stand them on a chair?
Anyhow to answer your question, I usually but them a drink at the bar and then sit them down and go and talk to me mates. BUT and this is the key part, I always stay in their eye line, that way they can sit and watch me all night. They like looking at me and when it's chucking out time they are practically gagging for it.

look as though you are really interested in what she has to say, smile a lot, then ask her if she fancies going for a drink, if that goes ok then ask her to dinner, but only give her a quick kiss goodbye, let her know you really enjoyed the date and tell her you cant wait to do it again, leave her wanting more...

Just be yourself around her, instead of trying to compliment her all the time just be friends with her and treat her the way you would treat anyone.
Whatever you do, don't run after her and suck up to her cause it will get you no where, just treat her like any other girl and trust me she will be the one doing the running.

I really think that you need to ask your Doctor to increase your medication. Not a big increase immediately but a gradual increase over a couple of weeks. Good luck and I hope you are better soon.

The best way is to be tactful considerate and courteous. Ask them out. Let them know you are prepared to meet them half way but no further. If they want you to chase them don't.
