Some are corrosive, some are toxic (and if on skin could be consumed accidently by not washing hands), some react with water on your skin and set off a reaction (forgotten the term) but don't react with gloves...umm :) is that enough?

I have one to stop it from burning your skin.I have looked it up on yahoo.I got a shock at how many chemicals we have in the home that causes irritation & are highly poisonous when beathed in.Chemicals can kill not sure if that will count.I worked for a chemical company & we had to wear protective clothing in some places breathing apparatus.

Prevent Skin Irritation

Avoid Transfering chemicals to eyes, mouth, nose, etc.

Some chemicals may transfer long-lasting color to skin

May be toxic; don't want to have it go through skin

May irritate current injuries or wounds

For starters if your gf does not wear Protective clothing she should not be hired. If she is working already then the people she works for should have told her why.It is not just for her own safety but for that of others as well.Chemicals can be dangerous, even lethal.Care must be taken. She is/will be exposed to them for longer periods that others who are not working constantly with cleaning chemicals.Do not dissuade her from Protective Clothing.
