What I say is a sad part of America, and I hope it not happen today. Many years ago I watched a Documentary on TV, and it was talking about Elderly People eating Dog Food. This been very long time I seen this, but, I assume it was people who retired with only Social Security as a source of income. Due to inflation their Social Security was shabby to say the least. I met a man who ate a lot of Potatoes and Beans. In time he tell me his Social Security was $330 a month. I thought; "OMG, how can you afford to live"! But, during his working years he had bought land and built a house, so, he own everything he have (Not the Bank). But, he still has to watch his pennies.
So, with this said; Yes, you can eat dog food and it good for you. I just hope you only have to do it because you want to, not because you have too!

your teacher is wrong. Traditional ismade from left over meat parts like paws and disgusting things like that. There is also a fiar share of tumors included. That is not to mention the non-human grade preservatives and chemicals. No, you don't want to eat dog food. Especially now, with the recalls. Everyday more and more food is being recalled for contamination of one thing or another. If you want to eat dog food, you can eat Neura Wellness by Old Mother Hubbard. Now there's a healthy dog food you can sink your teeth into. All human grade meat and vegetables.

Is that why so much of it was recently recalled????
Just because she is a teacher does not mean she is very smart.
NO, don't eat it. It will likley not kill you (or even make you ill) but it does not have the same nutrition as food for human consumption. It does not meet the same standards as food for human consumption.

Gross, if you knew what was in it, you wouldn't want to touch that stuff!! I read in a book I'm reading that in like 1997 or something, 11 tons of euthanized animals in L.A. were shipped for processing to pet food plants... Yum. So pets are eating dead unhealthy sick pets... Also meat not suitable for human consumption gets thrown into the mix too... Heads, beaks, feet, feathers... I don't think pets or humans should be eating that crap....

I'm not sure but I think I've heard that pet food has to meet human consumption standards in case it is mistakenly eaten by young children.

LIke I said I'm not sure so I wouldn't advise eating dog food.

You can eat anything - the real question is...why would you want to? Dog food is formulated for a dog's needs. So, if you decide you want to indulge in some kibble, just be aware that you may get the urge to bark at squirrels, run around in circles, lick your butt, hike your leg to pee (when & wherever the urge hits), chase cats, etc., etc., etc. ; )
