Well, if you're planning to find out, tread lightly... If you're THAT close as friends, even considering of taking the next step is quite tricky, not to mention risky.
Sit and think about the consequences of this, since even feeling around can cause great amounts of awkwardness.
Best of luck...

I have been in that boat so many times.
Here are your options.
1) Tell him you like him.
2) Ask him if he likes you.
3) Take a gamble with a friend.
4) Ask him out.
5) Stay stuck.
At the beginning of the school year I asked one of my guy friends to a dance. He told me later that he didn't like me that way, and we are still friends, although things were awkward for a month or two after! So, if you try 1, 3, & 4, he might not respond. That means he is afraid of hurting your feelings, or he is afraid of embarassing yourself or getting his feelings hurt. Or he might be on your side after all. He might be flattered and stay friends with you anyway, like my friend. Or he might ditch you or simply fade away - in that case, he wouldn't have been a good friend in the first place!
Don't try the whole network thing. Messages change from person to person. It also makes you look cowardly. Cowards are not particularly attractive to anyone. You are not a coward, however, just confused about what to do. Join the club, so many of us wind up liking a friend.
There are even more options! Try flirting with him a little. Tease him and touch his arm, smile at him warmly and say hi to him, stuff like that. Or you could try to strike up a relationship with another guy and see if that works out better for you...if you get too wrapped up in your friend here, you might not even notice someone else admiring you from the corner!

Sometimes you gotta just bite the bullet and ask the hard questions. But please take it from me, if he isn't interested, don't read more into his signs. Liking someone can make you turn even the slightest thing into something that it is not. So go with what he says and move on if the answer isn't yes. Good luck!

i know its hard but i think it should be him that should be answering this question but if you have got closer already see how things progress for about a month then if nothing comes of it the why not ask him out ? he can only say yes or no i wish you the best of luck xx
