If you do you don't have a brain. On top of the reliable informant interviewed on Sportscenter, there have also been VT alumni calling radio stations in Virginia. They're saying that Vick had dog fights in parking lots when he was attending VT. I have a feeling this story is going to continue to worsen as time passes. Vick is a rotten, arrogant man who doesn't appreciate the fact that he gets to play in the NFL. I don't think he really cares if he ever wins a championship. He's another "ME" player in a "WE" sport.

Mr. B and William: You should make sure you know what you're talking about before you run your mouth(fingers). If you had seen the first two dumb comments you would know why I misspelled those intentionally. I have my opinion about this, and it's the right one. Technically he's innocent until proven guilty. If you can honestly say you believe he's innocent, even with all the evidence they already have, you are very naive. It also DOES have to do with appreciating his NFL career. If he goes down for that his career is going to be in jeopardy.

I accept your apology for the condescending text. You were wrong.

There are plenty of people who feel strongly about this. I am one of them. Innocent until "PROVEN" guilty is the staple of our judicial system. We cannot convict someone based solely on what we see in the papers, hear on the radio, or see on tv. However, we can freely voice our opinions, based upon what we have seen, heard, and read. If Michael Vick is guilty of these things, and I believe the possibilty exists that he will be, jail time, suspension, fines, will be the least of his worries. Already with the accusations I believe he is losing his endorsement deals, that are worth tens of millions of dollars, due to the fact that no corporation wants anything to do with a possible criminal. It is obvious that Mr. Vick has no respect or love for the game, for which he has so much talent and god-given ability. He does not work hard, he does not study hard, nor does he practice all out. (Source? Coaches, and current and former players that have seen it) But does that make him a bad person capable of doing something so offensive? No. It makes him a bad character guy with no heart and a cancer in the locker room, Jim Mora Sr said it best, "Michael Vick is a coach killer, a team killer." (NFL Total Access, Oct-Nov 2006) and who would know better than the head coach's father? Who himself was a coach. I believe that Mr. Vick thinks of himself as above the law, due to his status as a self promoted superstar in the NFL. I believe that the charges will be found to be true, and he will recieve a suspension of at least 1 year, to maybe life. If he bets on dog fights, who is to say that he doesn't bet on football games? If he has a problem large enough with gambling, that he has to watch dogs kill eachother, it is not a stretch to think he is capable of betting on his own games. If that is the case, then the lifetime ban will be used. The thought of either one makes me sick. Dog fighting is cruel and inhumane, and shows the lack of respect for life, human or animal. Betting on your own sport shows the lack of respect for everything the NFL stands for. There will be people that will say, my boy Vick wouldn't do this, he's being targeted because he is a "superstar". He is not a superstar, he is an average quarterback at best, with all of the talent and ability to become a true superstar, but with no heart. Donovan McNabb is a superstar, Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, Steve McNair, Vince Young, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Matt Leinart, Steve Young, Joe Montana are superstars with talent, abilty and what makes you a superstar.....heart. None of them have the amount of talent and ability of Vick, yet they have all surpassed him in every way, statistically, winning, you name it they have it, and he doesn't. That speaks to a lack of heart, respect for himself, the game, for others, and a lack of remorse, or ability to feel. If he is guilty, the league and the court system will take care of it, if not, then he is free to continue his life.

Response to "MR. B" - If he had 30-40,000 to throw around during his college days it could have come fom an agent, it wouldn't be the first college athlete taking favors from an agent, and I am sure he wasn't the last. (Reggie Bush ring a bell????? And I love the guy, he just couldn't wait......)

Classic. Man, pointing fingers, while spelling like you are painting fangers. Funny stuff. It would be spelled "guilty bastard" by someone who could spell correctly.

If your best source of news is ESPN and public radio, you've got a lot to learn. You know most people on the radio have little education, and earn so little money (unless you're a Howard Stern) that you'd have to be an idiot...or independently wealthy...to even do it. Are these the people you let give you information that you regurgitate?

"Reliable informant" requires some sort of qualification. How is this informant reliable? Would you rely on him to drive you home after your spelling bee? You know, I saw a newspaper that said that Gore won the 2000 election too, but I haven't seen him in the White House. The news is not always right.

VT alumni have had their share of being in the news, and you'd think they'd be bright enough (as college students) to keep the negative attention off of their school. If it turns out that Vick wasn't involved in the dog fights (and unless you were there, you'd probably be better off without the "libel" charge that you could have leveled on you for making these statements) VT will be getting another round of reasons why NOT to attend the school. Their students are now murderers AND potentially liars. Ouch.

Until a TRULY reliable person comes forth with honest evidence, (example of current unreliable evidence: saying Vick bet $30,000-$40,000 at a time while still in college, man, he was sure rolling before getting that NFL contract, maybe he should have just stayed in the family oil empire instead of working for a living) I wouldn't say he is guilty. We live in a country where we are innocent until proven otherwise, and if he gets punished, there had better be some evidence, or I'm moving to Canada, because I don't want to live in a country where people can go to jail without evidence.

Obviously, it doesn't look good. Just having the dogs at a house he owns paints fangers (ha ha) in his direction. I am inclined to believe that he at LEAST knew it was happening, even if he wasn't directly involved. But until I hear something truly damning, I won't be saying he is guilty.

Any person with a brain would do the same.

Thank God for the rules of evidence and the judicial system and that we do not conduct trials based on TV reports. I don't know if he is guilty or innocent. All I know is that he will get his day in court and there and only there will a verdict be achieved and be valid. Whether he is arrogant and does not appreciate the fact that he gets to play in the NFL, in a court of law that is IRRELEVANT!!! You obviously do not like him very much, as is your right, but do not convict somebody over what is reported on TV, and your own perception of his personality. So far there is only one side to the story. The whole truth will come out in a trial, where a jury of hopefully twelve reasonable people will determine his guilt or innocence. Hope that I did not mispelled something, since you seem to be hung up on that, nothwithstanding your own mispellings.

As I said, you are entitled to your opinion. You think that he is guilty, and that is fine. My point is that in trial, jurors are instructed to look at the facts. The facts are always in dispute in any trial, that is the nature of our system and it is that way for good reason. You cannot provide a fair trial to anybody if the outcome is already predetermined. That is called a Kangaroo Court. Trials are not conducted on TV. Sportscenter and other outlets make money by fostering controversy and I understand, Michael Vick is not what you or I consider an upstanding citizen, but in the end, it is a moot point. What matters is what can be proven beyond reasonable doubt. I stated, that I don't know whether he is innocent or guilty, that is not my job. If he is tried and found guilty in a court of law, then he is guilty. If the opposite happens, he is innocent. I might not like it and many people might not like it, but in the end, our system works that way. Until they invent a better system, that is what we have to work with. So you are right and the rest of us that disagree, we are wrong. Guess what, that is fine with me too. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. I just hope the if you ever have to serve as a juror in a trial, you keep in mind that you should only consider what is presented in evidence as the basis of your decision, not what your personal opinion is about a defendant. If that does not sits well with you, tough.

A man is innocent until proven guilty. Now, there's no doubt in my mind that Vick is guilty of dog fighting. But, all of the reports and rumors and all of the other one sided bullshi* that the media feeds the public, IT'S NOTHING BUT SPECULATION. MIKE VICK HASN'T BEEN CHARGED WITH ANYTHING!

I think the media and everybody else needs to let the case play itself out instead of trying to figure out what the NFL is going to do, or what the NFL should do. If he's convicted, the NFL will be the least of his worries. Dog fighting is a felony in VA, so if he is found guilty, he's looking at time in a state prison.

I don't think he is innocent. I'm just curious what it takes to get this guy out of the NFL and in jail. That's a different story though, and yes he is innocent until proven guilty. But, as the current evidence is being shown all over the place how can he be found innocent in a court of law?

Eat your pig, eat your chicken, eat your fish, eat your cow, eat your cat, eat your dog...yum, yum, yum. I for one love barbecued dog. If you have never eaten barbecued Labradors, you are missing out. I had to go to Taiwan for that. I think that Michael Vic's dogs should be roasted or barbecued and they should hold a big party. By the way, what is wrong with what Michael Vick did? It seems extremely hypocritical to charge him but let everyone in our food industry go free. His dogs were treated no worse than the gazillion animals in America that are grown for food. What's the difference? And don't tell me that the difference is that his actions were illegal while the actions of the food industry are legal. We all know that. The question is an ethical one, not a legal one.

Everyone is innocent until found guilty. With the information I have seen, one sided of course, I feel he committed the crimes. I don't believe the NFL should suspend him until he is found guilty in a court of law or there is an admission of his wrong doing. Just remember the Duke Lacrosse situation just a year ago. That is a large problem with the press, they put out opinionated information or flood the public with specific information, generally negative, to get us interested.

I think he's guilty but I doubt they'll be able to prosecute him. They'll probably give him a ticket for owning the house with illegal activity. But nothing major, which is sad. He is a punk but now with everyone watching him close, he'll slip up and get his just desserts soon enough. He thinks he's above everyone and the law, so he can't say untouched forever.

There were 66 dogs in a house he owned...but he never went to that house. Now how could you NOT believe that sweet, innocent face of his when he claims his innocence? He just really, really, REALLY likes dogs and doesn't want anyone to take that the wrong way...
REALLY likes dogs!
