It depends, because in our culture we have our morals, beliefs and values. Our religious beliefs affect the way we live, for example Muslims have to pray 5 times a day, so they have to stop what they are doing to pray, whereas people who dont believe in anything, may think that the Islam religion is unnecessary. If you are married to a person with a different religion, and this causes conflict, things may be said which may be offensive about your religion. It depends on how far you personally take the disagreement as offensive. There are certain levels in which you can accept that what has been said about your religion is offensive. But this is how our culture is, people may all live in one society, but have different ways of living and perhaps there may be confrontations about different religions clashing.

I do think it's possible to have even religious disagreements in a polite way. It has to do with showing respect for those we disagree with.
