During the All-Star Challenge Drivers complained about the tire; so what does NASCAR and Goodyear do; bring the same tire to the Coke-cola 600. I know they may not have had time to get the tires right, let alone manufacture enough of the right tire in time for the race; but it seems this season and last season every single Driver has an issue with the Tires.
This isn't just at Lowes either. Goodyear has been with NASCAR for over 2 decades and you figure in that time they would have things figures out. Yet, every other Race we hear about tires issues and have tires issues which impact the outcome of the race.
I Goodyears defense though; I watch alot of racing and the common problem each genre of racing has is Tires. Every race, every genre you hear about tires blowing up, tires being to hard/soft, not able to get traction.
As long as we have racing I fear we will always have tire issues.

All you seem to be hearing this year is tires aren't right. While i dimiss many of the comments to,that's just racing.Jimmy's tire seperating the way it did after a few laps isn't right, the fact that each new set a driver put on was a complete unknown and really had a profound effect.I'm wondering why goodyear seems to be bullet-proof,why aren't they challenged by other tire manufactors for the contracts to supply tires or why teams cant opt to run other tires from different companys.

The tires are of a harder compound which will complicate the set up of the car.Add this to the fact that the race started in the daylight and ended after dark.
Goodyear is working on a "balance" between tire wear and fuel milage. This compound is coming closer to that balance.

That seemed to be the main problem at the Coco Cola 600 Dale had big troubles with them and so did Jimmie Johnson and normally both of them are fine.. maybe NASCAR needs to switch the tire provider!

i think the tires might be too hard but i do understand where nascar is coming from since it is such a long race. and the drivers do get to test with the harder tires so they have time to figure out how to make them work better.
