have a list of the traditional wedding decorations for the ceremony and the reception? Like at the ceremony, there's the aisle runner and pew bows and other stuff, and at the reception, there's centerpieces and other stuff. I'm having a hard time finding a list of all these decorations, as I don't know them offhand. Please help!

I would grab a book by Emily Post on Weddings at a local book store. She will get you into tradition.

Ceremony:
aisle runner
pew bows/flowers
flowers at the alter/front of church/arch/whatever
wreath on front door to the church
programs basket (or handed out by someone)

Reception:
table centerpieces
guest favors
cake table with flowers/candles
seating card table with flowers/candles
guest book (or other similar idea) table with flowers
gift table (no decoration needed)
menu at place settings if sit-down meal

I think the above would be considered an exhaustive list, that would cover everything! However, keeping your locations in mind, you may or may not need some of these, or invent your own. Take a good look at those spaces and envision what you want it to look like. Have fun!

I'm going to assume you live in North America (you didn't say) so these are traditional items in N.A. If you live elsewhere, I'm sorry but I'm not 100% sure if they're the same! Anyway, all of these are traditional, though many aren't used anymore (at least commonly):

Ceremony:
-aisle runner (if getting married outside or on hardwood floor; traditionally you don't use one if there's carpet already down)
-bows on end of pews or the aisle chair of each row
-flowers on the desk set up for signing the marriage certificates
-depending on your religion/type of ceremony, a unity candle or other candles set up by the officiant
-ribbons to block off the front pew/row or two for family (who enter last)
-if you have chairs, you can put chair covers and ribbons/bows (this is traditional for outdoor weddings; from the sounds of it though, your wedding is in a church)
-rice in a little container (nice baggie, little gift box, etc) on each seat (to throw at the end of the ceremony)

Reception:
-centrepieces
-name tags on plates for guests to find their seats
-wedding guest gifts next to each plate (ie: chocolates or whatever you're giving)
-flowers on the head table if you have a rectangular table as opposed to a circular table
-one table for gifts and guest book, decorated with flowers
-one table for the cake, decorated with flowers

Those are all the traditional decorations. Good luck!

I would speak to your minister/wedding planner. They might be able to show you some pictures of how other people have decorated the facility and you can choose what direction you'd like to take-- (there's no point in purchasing something only to find out later it doesn't work for your location). You might also want to take pictures of your wedding site to a wedding supply store or craft store and get an associate to give you some guidance. You'll save time and money planning the event around what works best for the location-- not just what is offered in the store.

I've never seen a list myself, but look around at pictures of weddings online. Just google weddings, and go to the images. Here's a link for you: http://images.google.com/images?um=1&tab=wi&client=firefox-a&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&q=weddings

You can also add what type of wedding you're having, such as church, outside, etc. to the search bar to help narrow the pictures down to what you want.

Look around at the pictures and see what you think is really pretty and what you would like, then make up you're own list.

That's how I'm getting my ideas for our wedding, there's some pretty creative and beautiful items that I probably wouldn't see on a list.

WELL I KNOW FOR THE CHURCH YOU NEED AN
ISLE RUNNER ALONG WITH FLOWERS FOR THE
PEWS AND FLOWERS AT THE ALTER. THAT IS
BASICLY IT FOR THE CHURCH. AND AS FOR THE
HALL OF COURSE YOU WILL NEED TABLE CENTER-
PIECES FOR YOUR TABLE AND THE COURT TABLE
AND FLOWERS FOR THE WEDDING CAKE TABLE
AND SMALL FAVORS FOR THE GUEST TABLES,
BUT IF YOUR BUDGET ALLOWS MORE THAN SMALL
FAVORS THEN YOU CAN MATCH THE CENTER-
PIECES FROM YOUR TABLE FOR THE GUEST
TABLES. ALSO YOU WILL NEED SOME FLOWERS
FOR THE ENTRANCE TABLE (SIGN IN TABLE)
YOU CAN ALSO USE SMALL CLEAR LIGHTS WITH
TULLE FOR YOUR TABLE, COURT TABLE, CAKE
TABLE AND ENTRANCE TABLE. AND IF YOU WILL
BE HAVING AN ARCH YOU WILL NEED FLOWERS
FOR THAT ALONG WITH THE SAME SMALL CLEAR
LIGHTS WITH TULLE. IF ALLOWED IN THE HALL YOU
CAN MAYBE DO SOME SMALL CANDLES....
WHAT EVER YOU DECIDE I AM SURE IT WILL BE
BEAUTIFUL............. BEST WISHES AND MANY YEARS
OF HAPPINESS TO THE BOTH OF YOU........

Forget tradition and do what pleases you. It is your day. There are tons of wedding magazines that can give you suggestions. Make it your own style.
