hi i have bought a lilac chiffon dress which although is really nice i am not sure it is suitable for me getting married in. i had wanted something cream but cant find anything suitable.

What do you think about a bride wearing lilac, it has a wee matching shawl and i was going to get silver sandals etc

it sounds beautiful...

if you have your heart set on cream and yet love the lilac dress, you could take the lilac dress to a dress maker and ask them to duplicate but in your chosen material?
thats what i'm doing for my dress. the dress i fell in love with was all black! lol

Why are you asking if it's suitable ? That sounds as if you are more worried about what other people think than how you look and feel in it. Unless it's a dress that shows way too much flesh, I don't think suitability is an issue. I'm sure you will look beautiful in lilac and silver. Have a great day.

Hi there,

I am currently engaged and this will be my 2nd wedding. I want a pink wedding gown and I am not going to stop until I get one...lol
You must remember that this is your day and you need to be happy with all choices made.

Have you looked at any of your local bridal shops? Sometimes they have dresses on the rack that are discounted. Maybe you can find something there if you are not happy with the lilac dress.

It is your wedding and you can wear whatever you want! The dress sounds pretty, so go for it. Just make sure that your bridesmaids (if you are having any) wear a color that complements the lilac, but still lets you stand out as the bride. Good luck!

It's perfectly suitable to wear a colour, before Queen Victoria made it fashionable to wear white brides used to wear their best dress to their wedding, regardless of colour. I like the fact that people are now showing they can think for themselves now and wear a dress that they love, rather than being bound to old style traditions if they don't want to follow them. If you are in the UK check out www.monsoon.co.uk they have some really pretty cream dresses in their bridal section.

The bride can wear what she wants. If you love the dress that's all that matters. It doesn't matter what colour you get married in, its just important that you are comfortable with what you are wearing. I think it sounds lovely. I hope you have a great day and I am sure you will look lovely!!

It's your wedding. It is important that you wear something that you like and feel comfortable and happy in.

If the lilac dress meets all of the above, then wear it.

It doesn't matter that it is not cream or white. Who said you had to wear cream or white? Lots of people don't!
