It's an extended family get together, 8 adults and 8 kids, (3 teens and 5 younger kids ages 7-10). Advice on activities, shopping and restaurants would be appreciated!

another option - though a bit farther, go wine tasting with the adults in your group...North Fork Region has tons and tons of vineyards to choose from...

The beach. Also there is usually a festival on Montauk Highway this time of year. And you could venture into the village, excellent stores for kids and adults. Be careful, however, it's quite an expensive village.

For teens night life is cool. My choose was Blay watch in the center. For kids - many parks, play grounds... And you can enjoy too!

Just go into town wonderful places to see. Walk around, check out the architect.

Visit a winery (yes, kids go to those they don't have to drink wine lol), go berry-picking or whatever type of fruit/vegetable picking that is available, horseback riding, beach, boating.
