You know if you study history after a while you realize that throughout time, those who could beat the crap out of someone else, usually did. whether it was in Africa, Scotland, South America or the Caribbean. Sometimes it was Vikings raiding Ireland, other times it was the Conquistador es wiping out the Aztecs.
The reason Africans have black skin is their gene pool is close to the equator, white people have physical adaptations that exclude a lot of melanin since in recent history they didn't need melanin living in colder climates.
Remember its always easier to be nice to friends and relatives than some guy standing at a corner with a cup in his hand. It's human nature to rationalize being mean to prisoners of war if you have taken their land and treasures. The expression is "to the victor, go the spoils " These things were already in place before Christianity was started. Basically people are not real nice to groups other than themselves regardless of the color of the person

I'm a Diversity Awareness trainer, and there's some truth to what you're saying here. It's more of a subconscious thing though, sweetie. What started out in the U.S. as slavery then turned to a white superiority complex and the treatment of blacks (who aren't just from Africa, btw) as lesser beings.
It still takes place through the media. How many black tv shows do you see in the U.S. that are dramas? Aren't they all comedies? Isn't this a subtle message that we aren't to take blacks seriously? I could go on, but this will get too long.
It take a lot to overcome a societal norm. It IS getting better.
By the year 2050, there will no longer be a white majority in this country. Things are improving.. give it time and patience, and educate where you can.
Race is just a pigment of the mind. The Human Genome project proves that we all originated in Africa.
I know it's difficult, but try not to lump all people of a certain skin color into a "majority of" group yourself. It only perpetuates the stereotypes that we're all trying to erase.

You can forget about blaming Islam or Christianity, It was CHARLES DARWIN who really rammed home the concept of blacks being an inferior race, and many Christians were duped into believing the lie.
Whites said that Blacks, are not as evolved as them, blacks don't have a soul. The Nation of Islam says that whites are blue-eyed Devils, and not quite human.
The ORIGINAL title of Charlie's book, The Origin of Species, was ACTUALLY this:
The Origin of Species: The Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life.
As far as the majority of whites thinking they are better than blacks, where did you get that from? While I don't like rap music, or the general gang-banger lifestyle of many black kids (or white kids for that matter) doesn't make me a racist.
Racists come in ALL colors. Whites cant say bad things about blacks (the nappy headed ho incident), but there is no problem with whites being called redneck, cracker, hick, hillbilly, trailer trash, etc.
If you are a white man from the country in the south, and not wearing your Klan hood and beating up blacks, you are at best either raping your daughters or having sex with your sister. What up wit DAT? That STEREOTYPE by itself is RACIST.
If you really READ the Bible, you will see that is where there was TRUE equality began. Slavery at that time was legal by Roman law. The Bible said for masters to remember that they had a master in heaven, so they had to treat their slaves well. Master and slave sat in THE SAME CHURCH together. This was unheard of during Roman times. And slaves weren't all black. Who ever lost the battle or fell out of favor with Caesar wound up on the auction block.
Stop throwing around that race card when you are offended by something, and dont blame the MAJORITY of whites when you run across the occasional jerk.
Read up on your history.

Well, I am not a scholar, but I am an Afrikan woman with a lot of experiences. We were transported to Escondido, Ca. from New Orleans, La. following Hurricane Katrina. One would think that California would be the most open, liberal, down-to-earth places in the U.S. One could never be so wrong! People classify themselves by how much education they have ( a B.A/B.S, M.S/ M.A or Ph.D makes your life "very valuable"), how much you make, and the all important, color of one's skin. In context to your question, I believe you already know the answer. It is very simple: it is easier to divide yourself than it is come together,as the brothers and sisters that we are. Everyone with a brain cell knows that the "Cradle of Civilization"is in Afrka. We are all One. Some of us are victims of capitalism, poverty, separation, the media, colonialism-the list never ends. Who wants to be responsible for that? Who wants to be a part of that? The best thing for us to do, no matter what color, creed, or religion, is to : 1) embrace our differences, 2) read about other cultures. That Asian or " Black" friend or associate, (G-D knows everyone has one ) talk to her/him. It is not a question/ answer session or a "Boy, am I sorry about Kunta Kente" moment. Please don't say ".. I didn't have anything to do with slavery.." Just talk to someone of a different shade; you might be surprised. There is only one "race" and it is human. People like to make life more complicated than it truly is. Peace.

Sorry. Never aknowledged that white people run after "sun tun"??? So. It is obviously not a matter of skin colour! The "white" you are mentioning, are those who performed Crousades? So. Crousades are finished and most of the "withe" people would not support them anymore, if they would "come back". About "culture", the problem in nowadays world is that some people with "black skin" come to "western" countries, spreading criminality. But, of course, this has to do with Sociological problems. What I can say, is that "raccism" exists, and this is not just one-way! So: black-raccists hate withe-skinned-people. And white-raccists hate black-skinned-people. But it is a "mental" problem .... At the end, it is a matter of different traditions and religions .... And who is very "in love" with his/her own traditions and religion, "is raccist" agains anyone who has other traditions and religion. And I repeat: this is not a one-way problem .... BYE.

I think it came about, in large part, because it was necessary to make slavery justifiable. Being that slavery was important to the economic success of a number of whites (particularly, rich and influential ones, the slave owners and slave traders), an effort was made to dehumanize the people who were being kept as slaves. As we have seen a number of times in history, it was a case of rich and influential people hoodwinking the poor into supporting something immoral that was really secretly aimed at making the rich richer and the powerful more powerful.

I cannot speak for the majority of whites; simply because I do not know the majority of whites.....However, racism didn't begin with whites and blacks, or greens and purples. It started in the hearts of humankind. Greed, power, money. That's all it's about.
Having raved all that...let me add that there is a purpose for everything that happens. It is not always for us to understand; but God knows the reason. And it's His reason. Now that we've come so far, let's not go backwards; but let's love one another, just as Jesus taught us.

Racism's involvement with Christianity and other religions and other beliefs goes back a long long time.
The Bible does not support racism or abuse, but it does allow limited slavery - but not in the manner southern plantation owners (many who were Protestant) practiced.
Good observations. Be on your guard.
I'll add that the major racism I see now doesn't involve belief or religion at all, but employment (particularly who gets the BEST jobs), and I see a great deal of it - even in companies that supposedly don't tolerate racism at all. I live in a major northern USA metropolis but see racism in small towns, big towns, you name it. Jesus definitely was not and definitely is not racist.

Calm down.
I dont think anyones better beacuse of color.
Heck I could go off on a tangent that Amaricans took my familys land, thats worse then relocation beacuse we cant get it all back + we dont get the same privlages that others had even after slavery ended beacuse we were never "mistreated" we dont get anything now really.
I dont trip though. you shouldnt ither.
Someone allways has it worse, stop playing victim.

In the beginning in the time of Noah (Genesis 9:26-27), he had three sons and three daughter- in- laws. The three sons were SHEM-the carrier of the white lineage; HAM- the carrier of the black lineage and JAPHET -the carrier of the asian lineage. Noah gave his blessings to his sons saying SHEM will be a great nation; HAM will be a slave of slaves and JAPHET you will mutiltiply greatly but you will live under the tenth of SHEM. Under these blessings SHEM lineage was given the edge of skill and knowledge but GOD gave the lineage of SHEM a mission- that is to treat the lineage of JAPHET as a younger brother in a population explosion which is a blessing of GOD. But they missed the point and thus, SHEM lineage became colonizers, exploiters, thieves, oppressors, racists warmongerer. On one hand, SHEM is really superior in all mental and physical aspects but spiritually speaking, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST said those among you, who wants to be the leader must be the servant of all; and those among you who wants to be the greatest must be the slave of all. Thus, THE LORD GOD is HE WHO exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness over all the Earth.
