Bottled beer and draft beer are brewed the same and are often from the same batch, but one goes into bottles and the other gets put in kegs. (well, there are also cans, but I digress)

Most people like the taste of beer in kegs better than cans or bottles. It is usually fresher and gets transported to fewer distributors.

P.S. Not all bottled beer is pasteurized

Many bottled beers and keg (fizz) beer has been killed by pasterisation (= boiling) and then pumped with CO2 to give it bubbles. Traditional beer in either barrels or bottles is a living product with natural CO2, where the brewing process continues. As such it improves with age, and you will find sediment in the bottom of the bottle of such a beer.

draft beer is unpasteurized and usually found in kegs. it must be refrigerated at all times to keep fresh. packaged beer in cans or bottles is heated to 145 degrees after packaging to kill bacteria. it keeps best refrigerated, but has an unrefrigerated shelf life of about 120 days from date of packaging.
