Getting him neutered will calm him down. It will also protect him from many forms of cancer, but getting him into a good training program is also very important. They would teach you how to help him stay under control.

In most cases it should calm your dog down and there are also other health issues to be concerned about if not done.
I would also suggest a dog obedience class so you can learn better how to control your big boy.
would say it would be a combination of both castrating and training doing either alone may or maynot work but I do believe both would be of big help.
It is never to late to train a dog just a bit harder to break teh habits it's been alowed to get away with.

It will greatly help him but not overnight, it takes awhile for the hormones to be used that are in the body. He sounds like he needs more exercise too, either a dog park, running next to a jogger or bike or swimming. Enroll him in a good obed. class and if he is on high protein food put him on reg adult as some dogs react to high protein like it is rocket fuel.

Staffs are naturall crazy. The only behaviour that castration will put a stop to is things like weeing everywhere and humping stuff.

However, PLEASE get your dog castrated. It certainly won't make his behaviour any worse, it might help, but more importantly it will save him from prostate and testicular cancer in the future.
