How can we help? You are already suing them so you must have a lawyer for help, right?

Hard to say. The fact that you are sueing is enough to force them to their maximum. I suggest taking it.

Do you know if that is the maximum the dog owner is insured for? If yes - then definately take it because it's the most they will ever pay in any case - anything more comes from the dog owner personally, and you will be forever getting it (if ever.)

I would ask your lawyer too, but any lawyer will say "no keep squeezing, you can get more" - out of self interest. He/she gets more if they keep the suit alive.

Put the $51,000 into a brokerage account for your son, invested in safe dividend paying stock or mutual fund. It'll be worth $150,000 - $200,000 when he's 21.

My first question is what has happened to the dog. I know someone who settled and teh dog continued to run loose.
Do you have a lawyer???
have you had your son checked by a dentist to see what's going on with his teeth, the adult teeth may not be ready yet but x-rays should show something.
Also cnsider not only physically but mentally you son has been is it sorth $51,000 or should it be more of even less.
I would say a good lawyer would help.
I really don't know but thought I would give you my ideas.
i wish you the best of luck as well as your son

Do you have an attorney? This would be better answered by an attorney or a doctor.
Is your son going to have to have more operations on his face?
Does he need plastic surgery?
His teeth wan't come in until it is time for his perminate teeth to come in.
Good luck, but I would definately speak with a doctor on the future care of your son or an attorney.

51,000 what, US dollars? Euros? Rupees?

Don't assume we know where you are writing from.

What do _you_ feel would be a fair settlement? What does your lawyer say?
