Well, basically ..no one knows exactly when is the end of the world. In other sense, the small world which is the atmosphere around you is "the small world", that you can decide when to you want to end it. To take you life? That is the end of " your own world".
From my own point of view, in the old testament God told Noah that he will not destroyed any bodily creatures by the flood. So, what is the end of the world we are asking? I don't think there will be the end of the world, but only devastating of the world with many kinds of killings bring life to the end.

The earth will not end, or be destroyed.
It is man on the earth that will be 'sorted'.
wicked men will be got rid of and the 'righteous' will be saved.

The end of the world is the same thing as the end of time. The end of time happens when you finally lose your ego and live completely in the moment. Therefore, as long as you have "things to do and places to be," you're not living in the moment, so its not the end of time . . .
