each religion has a basic and similar faith process. Sadly mankind has abused those systems and ethics and moral codes and twisted them into what they want, believe or need. Intolerance and hatred of each others religions is pointless and stupid. WHY CAN'T MANKIND JUST LEARN TO GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER AND RESPECT EACH OTHERS WAYS OF LIFE AND BELIEFS!!??

I was raised in a Christian home, true, but I started becoming skeptical of it when I was five. By the time I was thirteen, I was completely an atheist. However, I never stopped searching. I didn't believe in God, but I wanted to know exactly how life began, and what our purpose is (if there is one).
My search led me to study other religions, and look into science for answers. I studied Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Wicca, Satanism, Zoroanthrianism, and many other religions. I studied Greek mythology, Roman mythology, Egyptian mythology and Celtic mythology.
I actually became Wiccan for about five years, almost six.
I'm not going to spend time on how I came to the conclusion I did, but I will say this: I became a Christian for the first time in my life almost eight months ago. I'm not going back. I may study other religions a bit here and there, and I might try to read books that disprove Christianity, but I'm still pretty convinced. The evidence was overwhelming.

Yes I've pondered many faiths. I grew up Catholic, but have attended various other Christian sects. I've also looked into Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Jewish faith, and yes even Wicca. The Jewish faith I might add is really amazing, such a wonderful history. But after much research and soul searching I've found that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints not only has the answers for questions I had, but also the very Spirit of God with the Church.

As a J.W. I/ we are required to be very well informed on other's religious beliefs,
True religion complies with scripture.
example; statues and icons;
(Exodus 20:4-5) “You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. 5Â You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation, in the case of those who hate me;
Trinity teaching...not supported by the Bible.
Scrub the Catholics and Church of England.
Islam...does not berlieve Jesus is God's son.
Buddhism...peaceful, but follows the teachings of a man, buddha
Hindu...follows multiple gods...Exodus 34;14. A single Almighty God demanding exclusive devotion.
Sikhs...Does not follow the Bible.
Amish...peaceful, but isolate themselves from the world.
(John 17:15) “I request you, not to take them out of the world, but to watch over them because of the wicked one.
There are many other religious groups but none are complying with;
(Matthew 28:19-20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20Â teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”
With what?..
(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
There is only ONE group in the whole world doing this. And involving women in the preaching.
(Psalm 68:11) Jehovah himself gives the saying; The women telling the good news are a large army.
Note this is telling the good news, NOT preaching from the pulpit as a religious leader.

Enjoy whatever type of literature you will, but make sure your chosen religion is based on the whole truth.
Authentic Christianity is based on a real, historical Jesus, who was prophesied, who suffered and died just as prophesied, who rose again from the dead, just as he predicted, and who left behind a holy, powerful, and authorative universal church, to lead all of humanity to the truth, until he comes again.
That's why I chose Catholicism over everything else ... and I thoroughly studied each and every major world religion ... before I made my personal choice.
Since Catholicism embraces every culture on the planet, including a huge body of the finest art and literature that has ever been produced, you should try it, too.

Both my parents are ministers... and so.. being the typical minister's kid- i spent a long time considering a large number of belief systems. eventually i decided to become a good old atheist. to confirm my beleif (or lack of belief thereof) i decided to do Study of Religion 2 for my HSC. I studied many belief systems and atheisim just didn't seem to 'fit' me.
i tried a few others (one im not so proud of) but eventually i ended up in a youth ministry concert. Christianity had everything i was looking for.. and it was in front of me the whole time.

Read the book "Evidence that Demands a Verdict" by former atheist professor Josh McDowell.
Read any of Lee Strobel's books of the Chicago Tribune.
We are right... we are smart... because we have studied.
Punter... if you used those beautiful brain cells God gave you... you would stop trying to twist the Scripture to your liking instead of reading it for what it says.

God convinced me of who He is. Not man. But know doubt God used teachers and ministers to help explain it but God is who did the actual calling of my heart. I just had to ask Jesus to come in.
As far as studying other religions and philosphy sure i think we all do to some degree, but some of it is not so obvious. As we watch tv we see culture and has our culture embrasses other religions it is thrown into the mix of ideas on the tube. Outside the tube you meet people talk to them and talk to them about their faith and beliefs. Some go and read books on these people's faith as well. And it either convince them that their faith is as it is or they seek to understand about someone else's religion because they are not satisfied.
Jesus satisfies my heart soul and mind. And seriously I have had opportunity to choose another religion and turned it down because I seen the falseness of their faith.

As I have time to read there doctrines, I would think over their beliefs but not to the point that I will change the native truth in my heart which corresponds to biblical views.
