When Christians ask me that I ask why do you believe in God? Most of them do not have a good enough answer for me. Just like any answer I give them will never be good enough.

I do not believe in god because their is no substantiated evidence and defiantly no proof. The whole concept of a god is also abused:

This guy - with no beginning invents a whole an massive universe so he can put some beings on one tiny plaint. He marked these guys very fallible, He puts them their to play out a game where he hides after giving out a book of instructions, part of the instructions is to worship him, then when people don't - he gets upset and kills loads, he sends down another guy to change his instructions to everyone, some people get narked because they had done so much to be good under the old rules so they kill him, then he leaves em alone for a few thousand years just to see which will worship him and which will not.

MMM sounds just like a dumb fairytale but Ill rank it with myths because their is some good in the words of Jesus.

By the way science may not have ALL the answers but at least it has some that are creadable.

I guess it depends on the question doesn't it - not all answers require science

Since most people are indoctrinated from birth to believe that A) a god exists and B) that this god needs worship through this particular religion they just accept it as being true without questioning it or thinking about it. So if someone says "I'm an atheist" it's not something they can easily grasp.

So they ask why because they don't quite get how insubstantial god belief actually is

why not ? I rely upon science all the time and I'm an atheist maybe I don't come up to the arbitrary standards of some atheists but I'm real and can support my views with the utmost impeccable logic to my own satisfaction.

I don't understand your question. Are you the atheist? Are you the one who doesn't rely on science?

All I have to say is that even science requires a little faith to support itself. Even a huge amount of supporting facts doesn't mean 100% certainty.

I rely on science for almost ALL answers. Religion stops at "God did it." Religion is the path to profound ignorance. No, thanks.
