Well for example some cars only have stereo's for that car and no other it is programmed to work on that one. So what are we going to do when the DAB radio is the only way to listen to the radio? We can't just get new cars.

I don't know the answer to this one but I liked your question. I live in Ireland. We have no DAB so we only have FM etc. I assumed that all elderly people would be without radio when digital came in in England but maybe I am wrong. I think it is most unfair to those people who don't want to have digital. I bought an internet radio. Now that is great. 6000 stations from all over the world

All radio is not going to be DAB only - or at least not for many years.
There are no current plans to switch off the analogue radio transmissions. The well-advertised switch-over affects television only.

There are a small number of cars built earlier this decade with non-digital TVs fitted which will be affected.

The Digital Switchover doesn't affect radio. Any DAB stations are extra to the norm, not "instead of".

You can get satellite radio, it is infinitely better than Terrestrial radio, actually there aren't many music mediums that are worse than FM Terrestrial radio. Or you could buy an aftermarket car radio (they are much cheaper than new cars).

Yeah, but if we did have to get new cars the government might make them cheaper .... (i wish)... and they'd all be green cars anyway.
