If there is chemistry, how far is "too far" on the first date? I'd like opinions and explanations, if possible.

The question is more of "how far is too far for you on the first date"? No worries, I won't let Yahoo answers make this decision for me, I'm just curious as to what standards or general rules others have in regards to this.

I think if you're a girl who's one to worry and analyze, then you should probably stick to a kiss and see how things progress. This will also keep both of you curious and wanting more. See how he is AFTER the date. Does he call right away or wait a week? You'll learn alot about whether or not he's trustworthy and worth your time.
Sometimes men can put on an act, especially on the first date, and we've got to be weary of that.
Bottom line I think making out is more than enough on the first date. Personally I think a kiss on the cheek is sweet, and on the mouth if things went REALLY well.

Also I'll add my own personal story.. I'm 20 and started going out with someone who was 26. I thought he was expecting sex pretty fast. First date, kiss on the cheek. Second date, a lot of making out,.. and clothes removal. Third date.. umm.. we were pretty close. And that night he tells me that he's not used to getting physical with someone this early. I was thinking that he was being patient with me and wanted sex!
My point is do what makes you most comfortable and what feels right.

You and your partner make that decision. Not Yahoo! Answerers. There are no set rules or laws, only pretentious moral objections from people who think they are an authority on everything for everybody.

I don't have any set rules for myself either. I'm married now, so there will not be any first dates for me, but I'd let nature take it's course in the event of a first date.
