Getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep is ideal. Also, a fitness plan consisting of at least 30 minutes of cardio workouts (running, elliptical, bike... anything that elevates your heart rate) 3 to 5 days a week will help your body to relax during the night in order to recuperate. Thus, you will sleep more soundly, and wake up more refreshed. Also, a cup of coffee never hurts on those really tough mornings!

For starters, avoid energy drinks at all costs. These drinks contain lots of sugar and lots of caffeine. When you are sleep deprived, your body stores insulin differently. Your metabolism kicks into high gear and will burn these off faster than lighting. When this happens - you crash. It's not pretty. You can experience anything from dizziness to sickness, delusions, as well as passing out. Avoid any drinks high in caffeine and sugar. Drink plenty of water. Water hydrates every part of your body, including your brain. This can refresh even the foggiest of people. Be sure to not drink ICE cold water - drink it at room temperature. This will keep your body temperature regulated and refresh you at the same time. Exercise! I know this sounds harsh when you have no sleep. It can be hard to motivate yourself to move, much less exercise. However, studies have shown that exercising for 20 minutes a day (even with lack of sleep) will instantly boost your energy levels for up to 5 hours. After a little sweat, you will feel energized within the first 5 minutes post-workout. Not to mention, hey, it's good for you! Take small naps and rest when you can. With sleep deprivation, it's a known fact that you will dose off every once in awhile. Instead of fighting it, take a short (very short) nap in between activities. 5 - 20 minutes of napping can easily refresh your mind as well as your energy levels. If you can't nap - rest. Sit back or lay down for a few minutes. Relax, breathe deeply, and try to rest for a bit. You might not fall asleep, but your body will be able to tell a difference. Try to eat every 3 hours when your experiencing lack of sleep. No! Not junk food and carbs - that's a no-no. As I mentioned in step 1, sugar only makes it worse. Instead, snack on protein-rich foods or vegetable snacks. A salad, carrot sticks, peanut butter, eggs, and such will be a better choice. Protein can boost your energy levels and help your muscles function properly throughout the day as well as help you concentrate. If your feeling really sluggish - pick up a protein bar instead of a Red Bull.

I'm the same way. Try using a citrus scented soap or body wash... that really helps. Take a cold shower, eat breakfast, drink orange juice....

Sugar helps you to gain energy very fast so if you have something sweet, it will help you to feel more energized. If you are a coffee drinker, add some sugar . If not, have a cereal bar with a sweet taste of honey or something like that.. if you are on diet, just use the sugar substitute ones.
Caffeine works for some people just fine.. They could go on with their days with a black cup of coffee.
Try my favorite drink, which is a little bit of both, a vanilla late sugar free, fat free.
“ you can never do something to wake you up early , if you are not a morning person.. Believe me.. I have tried everything already but what you could try is how to make it feel better after the alarm goes off and get on with your life with more energy)

Don't sleep too much. If you sleep too much, you'll wake up feeling really tired.
