Why do so many people who hate religion hang out in this forum??

We all are basically gossipers. What can keep us busy most of the times is this R&S forum. Other subjects have a specific answer, agreed to by almost everybody alike. This place, my views and your views are always different. That is because both of us are ignorant about the truth. Like one blind explains to another blind, how the world looks like. But that blind has a different opinion. Basically both are telling a lie, thinking that the opposite party, being a blind can not outrightly reject his explanation.

kids, I have some news for you. "Religion" does NOT, I repeat, does not mean Christianity! And, if you can glance up ever so slightly you will see the forum is actually called religion AND s-p-i-r-i-t-u-a-l-i-t-y!!!

the feeling of that would be another answer as to why you perceive us people to "hate" religion. Try being respectful, and see where that gets you.
me personally, I don't hate religion. But the answers your question called forth do give me pause.....

I think it's very funny to see so many comments from Xians assuming that only Christian religions are attacked in this forum. What about Pagans, Jews and Muslims?

I think it is mainly because deep inside they are scared that they are making a big mistake, doing theirselves wrong and tghey search for reassurance through attacking religions and trying to find other weaklings who would approve of their views.
I met people who categorically refused any holy book even for the sake of reading and when getting to the bottom of it, it turned out that they are afraid of suddenly knowing that they have been wrong for too long and that they have abused theirselves and others for so long.
People are afraid to believe that there is an after life, heaven and hell and that their a mighty god who has created the universe.
They are afraid of his wrath and his anger at what they did, only because they don't know of his mercy and compassion... I was one of them.

Well, I don't "hate." But I'm here for many reasons... a *drink*… and:
- Interest.
- To learn.
- To teach.
- *TRUTH* MATTERS!
- Religion ... is ... Dangerous!
- Networking with atheists (new!)
- Religion affects each and every one of us.
- The Xian Bible advocates my death! <<<<<<<<
- The Xian Bible says: KILL 2/3’s of ALL humanity!
- R&S Theists can *grossly* misrepresent science.
- R&S Theists can *grossly* misrepresent atheism.
- It’s an inalienable right, TYVM – get used to it!
- It's ABOUT R&S... NOT 'for' R&S.

They don't hate religion - they are sick of christians thinking they rule it all.... you are so arrogant as to think the very word "religion" refers only to you, and that this section is only for you. Get over yourself. It is called "religion and spirituality" not "christians only, troll.

yeah, really. I mean, when a person really disagrees with something, especially on a moral and/or logical level, the American thing to do is to stay really quiet about it and let the people you disagree with go unchallenged. These people expressing their disagreement are clearly freedom-haters.
