My birthday is on Thursday so he hasn't forgotten yet, but I'm thinking he probably will. He might surprise me but he might not so I want to be prepared, haha. This isn't as huge a deal as it might seem. We've never put much of an emphasis on birthdays for some reason and it's okay with both of us. I've never even gotten him anything for his but I've at least done the decency of remembering and wishing him a happy birthday. The first year we went out he remembered. He's not good with dates but it seemed like he made a special effort to remember it. The second year he got it mixed up with my graduation date since they were three days apart, but even when I told him, still, nothing. If he forgets this year I don't want to tell him straight out that it's my birthday or past it and that he forgot. I want to kind of keep hinting and see how long it takes him to get it. Any ideas on what I should say?

Do you really think it will help to try to "trip him up"?

Better yet, make plans and then tell him your girlfriends are taking you out for your birthday. If he has been trying to surprise you, he'll have to cough it up. If he had forgotten, He'll be reminded and maybe will do something.

IMHO if he remembers your birthday he is probably gay. (Not intended as any kind of insult.
You will have to tell him all your life about your birthday, anniversary, the children's birthdays, PROBABLY EVEN CHRISTMAS. And make sure you tell him several times about the wedding and have someone reliable pick him up.
Not only this but you need to tell him what you want, and far enough ahead of time that it is still in the stores. (You'll be amazed how empty the stores are at 10:00 on Christmas eve.
Hope this makes your expectations reasonable and your celebrations satisfactory.
P.S. He won't forget Superbowl Sunday, so if there is someway you can imprint a nice gift for you associated with that...

Just come right out and tell him it is your birthday and let him know some things that you'd like to do for your day. That way it will take the pressure off him. All he has to do is pick something from your list and pay for it.

Or, if you want to torture the guy, you can always display the birthday cards you'll receive from your family and friends in places he is sure to see them.

Happy Birthday!

You should tell him that if he forgets your birthday one more time, he is going to be looking for a new girlfriend. Why do you put up with that? If he treats you that way now, what will happen in a few years? It is time for you to take a stand. If he loves you, it shouldn't be hard to mark the date down on a piece of paper and put it in his wallet!!!

How about you two go out to eat. Order a piece of cake. Take one lonely candle out of your purse, put it on the cake and light the candle. Close your eyes, make a wish, blow out the candle, and when he says, oh, yeah, it's your birthday, isn't it? say, my wish was answered, YOU REMEMBERED! LOLOL

slip a note in his pocket and tell him he best not forget this year. But do not be shocked if he does you the same way.
