When I take a face shot, it's ok, big eyes, white fresh completion, full lips. When it is the body shot of the same person (with legs), the face is of a greyish colour, beady eyes, no lips to talk about, mean expression. What am I doing wrong?

Can you post the two pictures somewhere so we can see the difference? The color could be due to the way your camera is evaluating the light when you pull back for a full body shot - maybe backlit?

Usually a mean expression has more to do with the photographer than the camera ...
