we barely ever see each other, barely talk on the phone, and plus it seems like he started to lose interest in me. plus i seem to put in more effort to be together than he does.

yes, yes, and yes.
What kind of a relationship is it if you barely see him, talk to him and he seems to have lost intrest in you. Especially if you're putting more effort in.
But, before breaking up, talk to him and try to fix it. But dont try too hard- if he dosent seem to care much about keeping you, then psh- kick him to the curb! and dump him. Start dating and meet someone new. And, if you dont wanna get into another relationship, enjoy being single-hang with friends, enjoy yourself without worrying about your bf. Then when you get sick of bieng single, look for someone who you think you might be intrested in.
Also, id like to give you this advice- boyfriends who are more in love with you than you are with them are better. Trust me; i know from experience ;]
Another thing- if he comes back after you've moved on- think about if you want to take him back or not. Has he been a jerk to you? Ever mistreated you? Then, DONT take him back. If not, and you think he might have changed, think alot about it and the decide (or even ask another question lol).

It doesn't sound like you have a boyfriend, especially if you're the one making all the effort. There are other guys out there who will be ecstatic to talk to you on the phone, take you to movies, just hang out, and so on. Go for it!

You can try to talk to him first. If that doesn't work you probably don't need to be together b/c communication is key.
If u do break up w/ him this line always works well for me:
"I think I'd make a better friend to you that a girlfriend."

Ask him if he even wants to be in this relationship, don't wait for his answer. Start dating just dating nothing serious. Show this fool your not home waiting on his answer. Give him 3 days to make a decision after that if he gives you no answer, cut him off don't call if you do its to tell him to come get his stuff. The key is you have to be happy and if he don't make you happy just let it go.

it doesn't seem like you are in a relationship, more like a lame friendship..
dont be sad or angry or vengeful just be grateful you have found out what he is like before it is too late.
maybe just forget him and get a life and see if he calls you - then you will get your answer - if he really wants to be with you he will contact you and if not you have saved yourself the trouble of talking to him and seeming like some lonesome dove...

In my opinion, you should meet him once and sort out the differences and find out the reason for his not meeting you often as earlier. If he is not interested in you any more, it is better to find someone else. However, you can still be friends and can hang out in the company of common friends.

I would talk to him first,
but it doesn't sound good. If a guy is into you he will call you and try to spend time with you.
Maybe he isn't that into you anymore. You deserve better than someone who takes you for granted

it goes both ways, and this doesn't seem like a 50-50 relationship, i think you should let it go, becuz if you are the only trying, then you are better off dating someone who would rather date you then watch you be in a relationship alone

i think you should talk to him and tel him how u feel first.. but.. i would say just break up with him if u dont wanna tlk to him first.. there SOO MANY fish in the sea.. whats meant to be will happen.. and that obviously isnt. if u stay with him ur missing out on finding ur soulmate :).. move on girl!.. theres tons more! of he comes back.. then maybe its meant to be.
