How could you ask a question like "Is God dead?" Of course god isn't dead. Don't you own a television? I know you have Internet! God isn't dead; all of the religious people of the world won't even let him rest much less die. God isn't dead. God is the income for thousands of people and it will be that way forever. God is life and a way of life for so many people.
I'm not a religious person and I don't believe that there is some guy sitting up there, somewhere, making decisions on how my life or anyone else's life may be run. But, I do believe that there are people out there that believe just that and I also believe that there are people that will take advantage of those that believe in that god for every penny that they can extract from now til eternity.

Your question is open to many interpretations. Depends on your God. In most faiths, the concept of God transcends human life as we know it. Faith in religions' respective Gods in many ways has never been stronger. I know many highly intelligent people (MDs, Engineers, Mathemeticians, etc.) who belive that our existence has to be driven by some higher order.
I do not know if your motivation for asking is related to the innumerous tragic stories that one is exposed to through the media, or first-hand. Despite all the visual horrors that one is bombarded with, I still believe that there is a God, and that God watches over us - not to protect, but to observe.
There are a many, many humans who appear to be people, but are animals in disguise. These are the ones who are performing those atrocious acts that can make one question the existence of God.
What I belive is that God wants each and every person to live life and reach their personal fulfillment, in mutual respect to what this means to each person. This does not mean that all people have carte-blanche to do whatever they want, especially if their "fulfillment" results in other persons being negatively affected. Each of us has to make choices that will lead us to fulfillment. If others are adversely impacted, however, then the fulfillment that one can achieve is hollow.
I most feel God when I "Do the right thing", when I am being responsible and taking care of my own life, and I am focused on my life and those who share in my life. This is when I feel most fulfilled and content, and in touch with God.

No, no matter what way you slice it, God can never be dead. If you are an atheist and don't believe in God then how can something that does not exist die? If you believe in God, then to you God is immortal and can't die.
So the answer to your question is NOPE no matter what you believe.

No, I am. Supposedly, separation from God is death. I never heard him speak, so I guess I was one of those multi billion earth people who won't be in the 144,000 saved. D.O.A. That's not fair, and it sucks.

God told adam that he would die the day he disobeyed, he ate the fruit but didn't die for many years (that is in the way we see death)
but for God death is spiritual, a separation from him
Jesus came down from heaven and died on the cross for your sins, he was cut off from the Father, or you could say separated so you would not have to be
he went down wherever that is for 3 days and arose
so you don't have to die if you repent and trust in him and one day you will get a new body that can never die also

Well, it's not applicable. To be "dead" implies former *life.* God can no more be "dead" than Ra, Odin or Bugs Bunny.
It's much easier to say that there are no Gods than talk of life or death. All Gods are creations of man.
