Of course you like your friends boyfriend. Women are mainly interested in competing with each other and getting as much attention as possible, regardless of the consequences.
You want to show your friend you are better than her. Sorry, but is a common and normal behavior. You are not thinking this, but it is subconscious. You can do some reading on your own. Oh yeah, and now you have a fantasy "boyfriend" who you really can't have, so you get to avoid any real relationships.
Of course he is going to flirt with you. He gets a free pass, right? I mean after all you are his girlfriend's friend. The answer is wrong, he should not be flirting with you, being friendly OK, but you know he is crossing the line. Guys want to play as many options as they can get away with. Again standard behavior.
The question is how to deal with this. You know what is right and what is wrong. Back off this guy, do not be so friendly. Tell him directly.....I know you are being nice and trying to be flirty, and I am flattered, but I really like Joe Smith or Dave Jones and want to get to kno w them.
As an answer to your specific question, if you were to date this guy, it would be a disaster, and you would have really hurt your freind and you would be known as someone who can not be trusted and probably the guy would break up with you due to peer pressure.

You wouldn't be much of a friend if you follow through on your "like" for her boyfriend and that would be a good way to lose a friend very quick and gain an enemy. Also if the dude is already dating her and he likes you too... chances are if you do get into a relationship with him he'll probably leave you for one of your other friends.

he is probably flirting with you because he knows you are his girlfriends friend and wont take it that seriously and he feels safe with you and is showing his girlfriend she can trust him (trust is a big thing in a relationship..)
Just take it as fun and relax... don't get serious as it will ruin everything for him her and you (if he makes a move on you just laugh it off and knock him back gently - don't go for it you will both regret it - or at least you will...)
think of the consequences.
How good a friend is she?
would you regret it if you were no longer friends?
and for how long would you end up going out with him for? would it be worth it? to endure your friends eternal ire?

What does it matter?
Didn't you already say it was your friends boyfriend? If you are actually friends with this guy's girlfriend you shouldn't need to know if he likes you back...
