Perfect point! Now watch them say you aren't reading it right because it is written in a code and one must study it, which is bull that they made up to cover the fact that they cannot answer. I mean really, why would a book meant to convert all be written in code? Come on, humans..
Peace!
AND, according to christians, astronomy is NOT o.k., because it is science and science is evil and wrong and a lie.

But even in the Old Testement if you read the law of Moses. It was forbidden to seek after those who used astrology and were psychics. It was evil back then and still evil today. Why? Because people who are psychics and not connected to God has demonic spirits operating through them. These demonic spirits desire to give a false impression that what is done is done through God. Demons can not see into the future but they can set up events in people's lives to give an appearance that it is God. If you are letting demons operate through you then there are going to be alot of other undesirable issues working in that person's life. Demons come only for the purpose to kill, steal, and destroy.

Astronomers, not Astrologers. They studied the stars they didn't all worship them or claim to be able to predict the future by them at will. Medians were codemned to death in ancient Israel, they could not be anywhere in the land.
Oh, and 'MoshingArea' don't know where you're getting your facts from...but if Christians thought science was evil we would all be more prehistoric than the Amish. As you can see the "alleged" contradiction does not exist, any basic look at the old testament laws will reveal that. The person who asked the question seems to be going off of what he "has heard" about Christianity / Judaism and not from a look at the scriptures.

Astrology is the oldest science known to man.
Its the telling the future of ones path that Christians do not believe astrology can do,and for that matter even science agrees.
Its funny how people really fit the personality traits of their sign.
Linda Goodman must have done some pretty intense interviews with every persons signs to compact it all together
and come up with all she did to what people are like.
I find astrology fun sometimes, but I don`t believe it as certainty.

If we accept the historical fact, that the domain of the supernatural ie God, religion, faith or whatever, has been diminishing with the expansion of human knowledge, then there is no contradiction Astrology has been proved to be a big fraud on humanity. That some inert and distant planets can influence living beings in the ways we think,is not only misleading but also fraught with risks and dangers.Astrology is not per se against GOD ,as against our rationality and commonsense. It's fear of the unknown and curiosity of human mind, which drive us to such pseudo practices.

Not astrology...the wise men studied astronomy. And holy men were prophets..not psychics.
The Holy and wise men followed these things as they related to Biblical prophecy. A far cry from what you are suggesting.

In biblican days the "wise men" or prophets only got their knowledge by praying to God and having answers revealed to them.
If they got their answeres from anywhere else, it was known as evil.
Read the book of Daniel... there are some great examples

God gave us the power of reason and logic in his own image. We can prove by reason that astrology is bunk, and so to hold it up in any way is, in Christian terms, idolotry. But in non-religous terms it is a superstition that actually causes a lot of irrational thought. If we have any value of rationality, and do not want to return to the dark ages, we should reject astrology outright.
