Why are the mexican illegal aliens so militant, wave their mexican flags and expect Americans to want them here? I don't understand the militant attitude. All we expect is for you to be here legally. That is it. BUT, all we Americans get is disrespect of our country.... The country YOU want to be in so bad. If you paid your own way, used your own social security number and truly wanted to be a citizen of this country then I would welcome you here, but instead you scream how you are entitled to be here and wave your mexican flag. I realize things in Mexico are tough, but if you are so found of your country then that is the place to start with your militant demeanor.

Help me understand.

I know that there are several people who are interested to find out the answer to my questions and I am very interested to learn the answer also. Thanks for your answers but I still don't believe we have gotten a real answer.

I re-read some of the extensive answers and I thank you for them. I don't think I agree that it has anything to do with the way the land was taken and in the case of Arizona, New Mexico and I believe California, those lands were purchased from the Mexican government. I just don't understand why they are so militant and disrespectful of a country that they want to be in that you obviously think is so much better to be in than your own country.

Thanks for your great answers!

I love you for asking this. I've always wondered the same thing myself. If they love Mexico so damn much why the hell don't they do back? If they want to show us that they want to be here they should be waving American flags.

If you were an American in, say, Thailand, would you wave your flag out the window of your car there? If the answer to that question is anything but no, then why would you complain about a Mexican doing the same thing here? I'm of course setting aside Illegal immigration issues because that wasn't a part of your initial question. Why would you assume that a foreign visitor should set aside their nationality in favor of yours? And for that matter, where do you get off opening your question only to those that agree with you? What, are you afraid of dissent? Are you worried that someone else's argument is stronger than yours? I mean, I'd hate to think that you should be wrong about something. In fact, I'm looking at your original question, and I can't see a single valid point in it. And I'm here to tell you right now that I disagree with you, and I'm not afraid to say so.

You know I heard from the top organizer of the Pro-illegal/amnesty march sent out memos to the people who were to march May 1, 2007. Beings some can't read or speak a lick of English - I guess they missed the idea big time.

Besides Mexico fly their flag in their country, and America, and Americans fly their flags in America. So those marching and flying Mexico flags were obviously in the wrong country with the wrong flag flying for Americans to respect them at all. We did not do this to them... they brought this on themselves. Sneaking across a sovereign border into another country, working and living here illegally, flying the Mexican national flag, and I'm sure like last 2006 march - criminal behavior, and acts of assaults upon opposition protesters.

AveGirl - Oh please!! If they didn't know and weren't aware of all those things you claim - then why are they breaking federal laws and sneaking across into the country? You really don't expect me to fall for the pity the poor Mexicans because they don't understand they need those proper documents. And I hope you certainly don't expect me to believe that after all these years - they still don't understand...
Keep making excuses for them.

A lot of them think that they are the only ones required to do such things as keep up with paperwork, keep proper ID's, etc. Because they are not required in their country to do so. They don't realize that we ALL have to do this. What is so hard about doing what you are told? I hate the excuse that they sat there and let their visas expire without finding out what was required of them to do. Then they whine that it is expired. When all they had to do is whatever they were told to do on the last visit they had. Turn in what they tell you, keep a stable, REAL job, file a paper every time you make a change in residency, job, whatever. So hard. I think the main issue with them is that they don't want regular jobs, they don't want to have the government keeping up with them, they don't want to pay the fees associated with each form they are supposed to turn in, or the fees to keep thier visas going. They don't understand that they put thierselves in the situation they are in, and they whine and say it is an unfair system. When really, all along, it has been the same system, but they who have not complied.

I think this is going to be a tough one.

You already know that half of the United States was once part of Mexico. In the early 19th century, a bunch of white guys from the United States moved to Mexico, the part of it that is now Texas. They owned slaves. Slavery was outlawed in Mexico, so the Mexican army went to went to free the ones the Americans in Texas owned. That led to the battle at the Alamo. In truth, the Mexicans were the heroes there and Bowie and Crockett were the evildoers. Well, once there was a Republic of Texas, it soon thereafter joined the United States. Americans moved to Mexico, declared part of Mexico independent, and then joined America. So that was something right there Americans would crap their pants over it was done to them now. Mexico was ticked over that and declared war on the United States. Now before anyone says they shouldn't have declared war, imagine what Americans would do if Canadians moved into the Dakotas, declared the Republic of Dakota, and then asked to be admitted to Canada as a province. Americans would say it was a land grab and want a war. So in the Mexican war, we invaded Mexico and took a good chunk more of their country. Some Mexicans haven't forgotten the unjust nature of that war and when they wave the Mexican flag, they aren't so much as disrespecting the United States as respecting a place to which they rightfully belong. Given all that did happen, they aren't all wrong. We did invade and take their land because a bunch of slave owners moved to their land and took some first.

My goofy utopian dream is no national borders from South America to North America, all the people of the continents, all Americans of the Americas living together in peace and harmony. So that's why I don't care much when some just want to return North America to pre-1836 borders or to create Aztlan.

I don't quite understand it either....

Our German immigrants adapted and joined... and hid their German heritage for WWI and WWII. The Irish just want to see a "Shamrock" on St. Patty's. The Italians don't make much of a fuss either.

Other mass-immigrations: Vietnamese, Chinese (pre-80's) Japanese, Filippinos, Russians... none run around bad-mouthing the country that has given them refuge.

With respect... La Raza and the retro-historical Hispanics who try to CLAIM that California, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas should "revert" to Mexico... OR that some how they "deserve" citizenship merely because the snuck in and have survived for 2-12 years.... GO HOME and fix MEXICO !!

I will put it that way: they only seek the money, for the rest, their world is the best... For them American don't know how to cook, dance, enjoy life, make love, and many other things... So of course when they see Americans they can only feel superior to them, also they can do sacrifices more than Americans, so they are boosted when compare to a normal American... They may be undereducated and poor, but they feel something that cannot be taken away from them.
When they feel American, Americans reject them, so of course they will keep themselves together against the rest.
Their childs are raise like this, so they keep the emphasis on those little abilities, which doesn't help their integration in American society... And you know what, it is not their fault, because who let them get inside? And who fails to integrate them to society? And who fails to enforce immigration laws?
Ask yourself those questions and you may understand who are the real culprits in this affair!
Edit: I don't approved this reallity, but we must face the fact that it is our government that needs to take action... Blaming them will not help them go back to their country. The real source of the problem must be addressed!!

ROY WARDEN GETS IT!

Money, get away
Get a good job with more pay and your O.K.
Money it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team
Money get back
I'm all right Jack keep your hands off my stack.
Money it's a hit
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit
I'm in the hi-fidelity first class traveling set
And I think I need a Lear jet
Money it's a crime
Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie
Money so they say
Is the root of all evil today
But if you ask for a rise it's no surprise that they're
giving none away

"HuHuh! I was in the right!"
"Yes, absolutely in the right!"
"I certainly was in the right!"
"You was definitely in the right. That geezer was cruising for a bruising!"
"Yeah!"
"Why does anyone do anything?"
"I don't know, I was really drunk at the time!"
"I was just telling him, he couldn't get into number 2. He was asking
why he wasn't coming up on freely, after I was yelling and
screaming and telling him why he wasn't coming up on freely.
It came as a heavy blow, but we sorted the matter out"
