Small animals can be neutered. I have had rats that were neutered. However it is always risky using anaesthesia on small animals. They do not always do well, and the vet must be knowledgeable.
You need to find a vet that has done small animal neutering. Be aware of all risks and possible complication before going ahead, and make sure you are comfortable with the vet doing the procedure.

Separating them will do. My 2 female hamsters gave birth 2 months ago almost at the same time but with different males. After they gave birth and I quickly separated both mothers from the males and put them in different cages. It was only when their pups were about a month old and their sex could be determined did I separate them again. This time, I put all the male pups with their dads and all the female pups with their mums. This way they don't get to breed or inter-breed again (inter-breeding could cause deformities).

Separate them, dont worry. All the male wants is to mate but to keep on allowing them to breed for no reason and unexpectedly is poor for the females health and its poor care over all. I mean would you like to stay pregnant you whole life. Just think after giving birth and then getting pregnant again soon after, not fun or easy. It wears them down fast, even if you cant tell.
So just separate them. They wont mind, they usually are solitary animals, but just sold and kept together at pet shops, they even have to separate those that fight when they hit maturity. Dont place males together cause they will fight. I dont think females have trouble being together.
Try sticking a cage seperator in there to keep them from mating. I heard of them from somewhere

Yep, it's possible...but, like stated, there are risks. I've known of several neutered mice. Although, if they're syrian hamsters, the female would likely fight/kill the male regardless of neutering. They're solitary and territorial rodents.

It can be done, but surgery on small pocket pets is extremely risky. There is a high death rate with surgery. At our practice we neuter rabbits and guinea pigs, but really discourage surgery on the smaller guys..it's just not worth the risk when you can just get another cage for it and keep them seperate.

No they cant. Just let them have the babies, you dont have to keep them. The hamsters will get depressed and lonely after being sepperated from the mate. And excuse the french, but I dont think the male would be very happy if you lopped his balls off either. :)

Rip slightly strip of pretend fur off of something, spray some low-priced fragrance on it, drop it interior the cage and permit the little guy cope together with his bidness. do not chop his boys off. "Run Forrest Run"
