Hmm... well, you are forgetting the fact that many of those lettuce pickers, landscapers, and janitors are actually legal immigrants, citizens and native born citizens, so maybe you should rephrase your question into something a bit less combattive if you want actual responses rather than angry rebuttals.

Is illegal immigration wrong? yes, that is why it is called illegal. Have you ever gone to the INS website and seen what our country makes people go through to become a LEGAL immigrant? if not, do so. You may understand why so many people forego the process.

And as someone else responded, are you going to find someone else to pick the lettuce, and mellons, and pretty much every other fruit and vegetable that we all want to be cheap and accessible? If so, maybe you should go directly to the heart of the problem, that being the growers who want to pay squat wages and retain a large profit at the expense of others.

Same way I feel about people with poor grammar and worse vocabularies. "Foreign invasion?" Is there another kind of invasion, where domestic forces invade? Redudancy in the hopes of appearing intelligent, sad.

As for foreign workers, I feel more and more inclined to support lax immigration laws when I hear or read people rambling about things that they just aren't informed on. Besides, California actually makes money off of these people that supposedly drains our social institutions. Thank our high taxes on products (of all kinds) for that.

Funny the way you put that. But it's not a funny issue. It's extremely devisive. There have been immigration issues in this nation for 125 years! The hispanics from down under won't undermine our society or destroy our economy but regardless the illegals are just that.Illegal.They are breaking the law and this is a nation governed by the rule of law.Legal immigrants are fine. But they are holding down the wages of some industries.Good for the execs and farmers but not so good for born citizens who are willing to work in those same fields.Esp and particularly construction and manufacturing.Admittedly not alot of whites or northern blacks(oh I'm sorry that isn't politically correct{african -americans} are lining up to pick veggies.Wew could put socail service recpients to work in those fields though...HMMMM...Just thought of that one.And then there is the whole border security issue and the fact(and yes it is a fact) that more then just hispanics are coming across our southern border illegally!

U left out those wonder Mexicans in the gang called MS-13. Those wonder 25 % of the Mexicans that fill our jails / prisons.

And those wonder illegal aliens that gladly kill 13 Americans EVERY DAY!! If you add the delightful drunk driving illegal aliens that luv to kill 25 Americans EVERY DAY ....whewww that's over 80,000 Americans killed on American soil since 9/11 by the gentle beautiful people from south of our borders.

Why are Mexican men so pussified to fight the God fearing Mexican govt for this little thing called Freedom?

Why hasn't the brillant Mexican men, who have been a country for about as long as America, still enjoy living in 3rd world conditions?

Or course Mexicans are better workers. If you come from a country that ur own people gladly treat u like dirty scum for a buck a day - and u come to a country where u can make 50 bucks a day - of course the slave will gladly work like dog.

The word American needs to be capitalized, I am not afraid of anything but weird people in pink scrubs.

Well, everytime I sit in my freshly cleaned house, admiring my newly landscaped property, while eating a wonderful fresh lettuce salad.....I feel pretty thankful.

I am not afraid of them - never have been nor ever will be and on that note: I will always VOTE down any prop. or measure or law or anything that even smells like giving any benifits or amnesty. You watch, when the gravy train stops they will self- deport themselves. There will be no need for them to even want to stay here.

If they are here illegally, then I think they should all be deported and the people who employed them should be fined. I, for one, am very tired of my taxes going up, along with everything else, to pay for government programs for illegals and to educate their children in our schools. Our classrooms must be bilingual to accommodate them. Never before has any group of immigrants (NOT illegals) come to this country and demanded that we as a nation provide ALL communication in their native language, along with English. Other ethnic groups came to this country legally, learned our language, and became part of our nation. It makes me think that the people coming into our borders illegally are too lazy to make the effort and are not much vested or interested in our unity as a nation. Therefore, when I see tv coverage of them marching in OUR streets, waving THEIR flag and demanding THEIR (?) rights, I will admit it makes me angry.

Maybe people responding to this should learn how to use proper puncuation when they are defending their people crossing the border. Also, maybe they should understand the word of 'alien' in this sense, as it does not refer to "people from outer space".

But like someone already said, they are better workers and overall better people than many americans who do not do much of anything except complain about what the government owes them.
