Well, that is just the bible in christanity. Other religions are based on whether you are a good person. Good people go to heaven, but then again in other people's eyes there actions are justified. But the big thing is that when a person does something they know is positively wrong and they feel it ,but do it anyway, that is when they are bad people. When a person will put aside there own feelings for someone else, that is when they are a good person. All people have a religion and this "god" is the same to all people in concept. A bigger being that wants the best for ALL people. People just make god this way to control other people and make them slaves to religion.

Yes it doesn't make much sense ;the reason you even ask is because the so called christians are self appointed and don't know much about him or about the bible for that matter, you can read the bible 10 times, memorize the all thing, be pastor and still don't get it !..... if u'r not a true christian you'll only get half the message, the bible shows that some will get a second chance and not all punishment is going to hell /lake of fire...now read the bible ,compare verses on same topic ,read comments for all kinds of sources and them it will start to make some sense ,better yet became a true christian and then the h.s. will help u.christian is the doer not the talker, the bible shows when you are an aproved christian ,god can't be fooled, simply fullfill his requirements he will fulfill his promises.hope it helps..

You need to read the Holy Bible if you want the correct answers. I recommend the New Living Translation, it is written in plain modern English. The answers are there. You should find someone who is well versed in the bible to help you find specific answers or you could use a concordance to find what you are looking for. God is a just and good God. He will never do anything that is wrong.

I've thought about that too, but you know that God, who is a loving God, would never condemn those who were never given a chance to praise him. Otherwise, he would be condemning all the infants who die and unborn children that are murdered every day, and I just can't see that. He wouldn't take the time to perfectly form a human being just to condemn them without giving them a chance. Same goes for those who live a full life never having heard of him.
I seem to remember reading somewhere in the New Testament about a period of time at the end in which those who were not given a chance to make a choice will be given that chance. I was just looking for it, but it's late and I'm tired. I will look some more tomorrow and if I find it, I will definitely let you know. It helped me come to terms with that issue too, so if I don't find it now, it's gonna bug me! :)

Those who insist that the Bible teaches eternal punishment by throwing them into hell should ask whether such an belief is consistent with what the Bible teaches us about God. For example, how could God justly deal with those who have lived and died without ever receiving an opportunity to be saved? This would include the millions who died as babies as well as the billions of unbelievers or idolators who lived and dies without knowing God or His son.
God is a God of love who does not want any to perish ( 2 Peter 3:9). He tells us to love our enemies ( Matthew 5:44) " He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust" (V.45). Yet the traditional view of hell would have us believe that God vengefully punishes His enemies through all eternity.
The idea that God sentences people to eternal punishment is so repulsive that it has turned some away from belief in God and Christianity. The problem is not that the Bible teaches this damnable doctrine, but that men have misunderstood what the Bible teaches.
Many who profess to be Christian believe that the wicked will burn forever in hell. They claim to find this teaching in the Bible. But, hey a simple question, would a merciful God inflict excruciating pain and torment on human beings for millions of years -throughout all eternity? Could the great creator of the universe be that unfeeling and uncaring? NOT! Even though " the wages of sin is death " ( Romans 6:23), the God of love, justice and mercy has no desire to see anyone, even the incorrigibly wicked, suffer in agony for all eternity.
Read Malachi 4:1 " For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up, says the Lord of hosts, that will leave them neither root nor branch "
The time setting is the end, when God will bring retribution on the wicked for their rebellious ways. To those who surrender to God and live in obedience to Him, God says: : You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on that day that I do this," (V.3). God makes it clear the ultimate fate of the wicked. They are to be uprooted like a nonproductive tree, leaving not so much as a root or twig. They will be consumed by the flames of the lake of fire, LEAVING ONLY THE ASHES!
The Bible does teach that the wicked will be punished by fire, but not the mythical hell of men's imagination. God is a God of mercy and love. Those who willingly and willfully reject His way of life, characterized by obedience to His law of love ( Romans 13:10), will die, but not suffer forever. They will be consumed by fire and forgotten. END of story!!

. If God is truly a just God and merciful then allow him to judge these people by his standards which would be higher than ours. If he is truly all knowing then he knows the condition of mens hearts and would take all things inot account. The truth is most people don't want anything to do with God because they prefer their own sinful lifestyle and know he would require them to change. So to appease their own conscience they look for excuses to accuse God of being unfair. If teir truly is a God (which I believe their is) and if we stand before him someday, won't it come off kind of lame if we start complaining about everyone else and how they got a bad deal. We neeed only to answer for our selves. Allow God to judge those who you consider to have been placed at soe divine disadvantage.

No, that's not how God is... God is fair, honest, just, all-knowing, all-powerful, etc... if He wasn't He wouldn't be God and we'd be looking for someone else... but we know that He is... and in this regard He is fair to all people throughtout their lifetimes to speak to them through their minds (conscience) or other ways and give them opportunities to be reconciled to Him (i.e. forgiven of their sins). The very fact that we, as humans, are eternal beings causes us to ask questions such as the one you have asked so as to know if we are on the right road... because lets face it, 'forever' is too long to stand in a fire and I assure you that God will be fair to everyone (regardless of what religion they were born into) to ensure they have had many many opportunities to get on the right path that leads to eternal life. Hope this helps...

This is why the Catholics originally theorized limbo. When they tried to explain EVERYTHING about God, they ran into logical traps and contradicitions, particularly in the reconcilliation of God's perfect justice, mercy and love. Their only solution was to build in "exceptions". Without them, God looks like a monster.
Faith is a system of belief, not of reason. It is meant to change hearts, not to teach "knowledge". When the "spirit" dies, when faith is re-organized into a creed-defined institution, it becomes a demonic system of rules and exclusions. "Salvation" is no longer for the world but in spite of it, and belief trumps practice.
When God is defined in such inhuman terms, "eternity" in "heaven" loses its allure.

"The truth [Law] of God is written upon man's hearts. God is just, and everyone receives equal opportunity to turn their eyes toward Jesus. (Romans 2:14-15)
Romans 1:19-21 says, "because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
God made Himself evident to man, even his "divine nature." Hence it is not merely moral laws that God wrote on the heart of man, but the very knowledge of God himself, verified by the things which God made.

No, u've totally misunderstood it. God does not say that only Christians will be with Him (incidentally, no one goes to heaven). He created every single human being and He wants everyone to become like Him eventually. Yes, we all have the potential to become God. That is what His great plan for mankind is. He is in the process of reproducing Himself, if u like. The people who don't know who He is right now, will eventually be taught all about Him and His wonderful ways. He won't PUNISH them! Please don't be put off by people who say the wrong things. That is so sad. Our loving Creator is always there and He always will be there. Please don't despair.
All my best wishes, love.
