Hey there QueenofYack, He (God) did create them equal... the problems arose when Eve disobeyed God and ate of the forbidden fruit and then gave to Adam who did the same. The result of this was that Adam, Eve and the serpent each received a curse so to speak... part of Eve's curse was that she would be under man..... see Genesis chap 3:14-19... dont get me wrong hon... it wasnt how God wanted it... and its part of the "fall of man".... but remember we guys also got cursed... hope this helps...

There is male chauvinism in the bible because men aren't perfect. The bible is a record of different things that have happened on the earth with men and their dealings with God. I don't think God wants men to be chauvinistic, but, they naturally are it seems. I think it has a lot to do with different cultures that came about and certain things became acceptable and that's just the way things were done. Don't know if God was particularly happy with all those jewish traditions. He can only do so much to help us.

The various books that were collected, revised, rewritten, and combined to form the Bible were all written by men. During that time, women were second-class citizens, so the men who wrote these books were raised on the belief that women were servants of men. Nothing more. It is a book written by men, period. There is no divinity within it's pages; there is only a collection of stories, mixed with a little true history (very little).

I'd love to sit and discuss what you think is male chauvinism. I think if you read the Bible for yourself you will find this to be the general theme.
1. God created women and men as equals.
2. One of the curses of sin was that women would be ruled by men(it was not God's plan)
3.Culture often influenced how women were treated(this once again does not show God condoning belittlement of women)
4.God's original intention was for men to be the leader of the household. It simply is our role to fill.
Most verses quoted to show how the Bible is sexist fall under those categories, if not, the others can be easily understood in the context of knowing that God made Man to be one with Woman. I hope this in some way helps.

there is no male chauvinism in the bible, only in many churches.
the bible is so complete in explaining the world that you can take excerpts out of context and make it say anything you want.
this makes it especially handy for those who are working for the devils team to denounce the bible. One of Satan's favorite places is on the pulpit. Its because he wanted to be Jesus that got him in trouble the first time. not all preachers are bad or delusioned but to find the right one takes some work.
but men and women are not equal. God made the stronger souls to be women. If you go to most churches you will find that it is the women that do the majority of christian work. their strenghth can also be seen in the number of hard-working mothers.

There was no women's lib then. By the way, women are still not equally treated in many parts of the world. Even here in the USA, a recent survey showed that women make less for the same jobs as men.

Both "male and female" Adam are called "them" created: Genesis 5. So there you have your equality of imperfection.
And "as in (male and female) Adam (them created) all die": 1Corinthians 15. There again you have your male and female equality of imperfect law bringing death upon all: Romans 5.
Hence the exhortation: "come out from among them"(male & female Adam), with the reason being their law (ministration of condemnation and ministration of death: 2Cor 3) will condemn and kill you (and all the kingdom of God within you).
As for servants, male prophets are called servants(slaves). So there again you have your equality of being slaves to law.
Not to mention the "you all" in the end written is globe-all:
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Well, lets suggest that it was written by men to support ruling by men with a built in God structure that does not include women deities. And one way this would come about is because women, having babies, were dying from childbirth and if they lived, were tied up taking care of the babies.
And if God rules man, then that justifies man ruling other men and men ruling women. Yup seems self-supporting to me. You might look at other religions and see whether and how they avoided the situation.

Honey that is a D*** good question. Perhaps it has something to do with the bible being edited repeatedly over the centuries by males? Take a look at the information about Mary Magdalene being Christ's key disciple, and how her position was denigrated at the whim of a pope.

I always didnt want any man to put me down or take me for granted. So I had the same behaviour with my husband. But I realized now that God wants me to obey my husband in everything. One thing I do, is ask God to grant my husband all the understanding to run the family and take care of us. And now God is changing our family into a better one. But when I did my way, we had had few fights and unpleasent heart which is fading away.
But I can also feel God's love is not different for Men and for women. You can see Jesus love His mother, telling good news to Samaritan lady, giving aprreciation to Mary Magdalene's pouring of oil, etc..
I feel God's touch, His presence after Holy Spirit annointing and I can tell that His love for me has been much greater than I think.
Its our heart, our love, our intension that matters to God, not our gender, our clothes, our looks, or anything else :)
