Weight Watchers vs. Jenny Craig (whatever you want to eat vs. prepackaged high sodium foods)

or

Atkins vs. Vegan (mostly eggs and meat vs. no meat or animal by-products)

1. Which would be easier to write about (more information on the web)
2. Which one would you be more interested in reading??
3. Have you been on any of these diets-- if so, can you give me key pointers for what to talk about??

THANKS!

but see, the fact that they are both lifestyle choices AND diets is a good reason to write about them

Atkins vs Vegan!

The most interesting thing i was thinking about earlier.. with atkins you dont have carbs so you get protein from animals

with vegan you can only get protiens from plants, and they are not complete proteins unless you mix them (mix legumes with granis, or grains with seeds, or legumes with seeds), and all of those protein sources include carbs, but almost no saturated fat! whihc comes from animal products, where atkins dieters get their protein.

I'd be interesting in reading a compare/contrast about that..

Atkins is a very controversial diet program so you can probably find alot of info on the web regarding it, Weight watchers vs. Jenny Craig would probably have alot of appeal though because they are two of the most advertised diet programs and longest running ones around. I haven't done any of these diets but a couple of my friends did weight watchers and always raved about the "points system" and how easy it was to use. Hope that helps.

Weight Watchers vs. Jenny Craig

The reason: You are comparing apples to apples there...they are both plans to lose weight.

Atkins vs. Vegan is weight loss vs. lifestyle choice.

I haven't been on any of these diets.

I think it's a matter of preference. Both of your examples can be found on line, and both adhere to the assignment of compare and contrast. The first two are strictly commercial and competitive; where as the latter two are in direct contrast to one another. I am not a diet freak, but I guess I would be interested in reading about either if it was well written, just to gain new perspectives. Good luck!

I'd compare/contrast women's rights (esp voting) to black rights. For instance, when both the black vote and woman vote were on the table for discussion, many suffrage groups stepped down in support of black rights, while others thought it unfair that blacks got the vote before they did. Lots of research points and an easy compare/contrast paper. Something like... "In the United States, both women and blacks have endured limitations on their rights based on discrimination" (it's rough, but you get the jist) It doesn't sound like you have to make an argument, per say, so I'd just compare the two, also look at influential leaders and what they had to say about one another, for instance Elizabeth Cady Stanton or Susan B Anthony & Fredrick Douglass. Like I said, compare and contrast, easy 'A'. EDIT: ooh, also, some suffrage groups deliberately refused to support black rights so that they could gain the support of southern women who were inherently racist against blacks gaining voting rights, while others supported them fervently to gain the support of northern abolitionist women.

How bout a high protein to a low carb diet? Pretty standard yes, but there is a bunch of research for you to look up.
