None. To test with a mercury themomeor under the arm it needs to stay there for 9 minutes for an accurate reading., if its digital it will be accurate when it beeps

Add one degree, per my pediatrician. Also, FYI - normal temp is 100.4 read rectally, 99.5 read orally, and 99 read under them arm (anything above is technically considered "fever")
