First, they are not good people, they are GREAT people. The military follows orders of the President and the officers appointed over the soldiers. We have a wonderful thing called the checks and balances, one branch is checked by the other two. The Executive Branch (that is the President and others) is checked by the Congress and the Supreme Court. If one branch feels the President is tearing the Constitution to shreads, then that branch MUST do something about it. Until then, VOTE and change it!!

81st BCT said it so perfectly I have nothing left to add except... Why are you leaving it up to everyone else to do the dirty work? Aren't you a citizen? What? you can't raise your voice or make a stand and fight? Ever wonder what our world would be like had the Englishmen not stood up to King George and formed our own democracy? They were not technically our 'military' yet. They were minute men. Men just like there are men today (now woman as well) who live and disagree and have the ability (NOW--because of those early soldiers)to stand up and fight and take their concerns to the right people. THEY made a change because they felt strongly about it....Have you written to your congress today? HAve you done anything? To be honest I haven't either...but I'm not on here accusing our INCREDIBLE soldiers for not defending our constituiton now am I? I will be writting to my Senate over my concerns though...just so you know.

Bush is the Commander in Chief and they are following orders whether they want to or not. This is the US and the way they;ve always abused the Constitution and the nations of the world for greed, using the Military to do it

but what if the presidnet has proved himself to be an enemy of the constitution? Would not the oath you took demand of you to protect the country from the president? If he is a domestic enemy of the constitution (according to the courts, he is- including the US supreme court.)
What does that do to your oath? what do you do?
could you in good conscience violate your oath that you took not to the president but to the American people that you would protect and defend the constitution from ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC.
Can any officer order you to break your oath? even if that officer is the President of the united states?

Hey Dick! It's called an Oath! We take it when we join. In it we swear to defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.... And if it was up to me you'd be considered an enemy. But unfortunately, we also swear to obey the orders of the officers lawfully appointed over us. And even if you disagree with the legitimacy of Bush's election he has been found to be our rightful president. That means if we take up arms against him, we can be executed for treason. But pretty much what it comes down to is that we stick OUR A$$ on the line so SH.ITHEADS like you can bad mouth us and burn our flag.

Because our government and laws under the Constitution prevent them from doing so, laws created after seeing what military dictators have done in other countries.
What are you doing about it, as a citizen, if you are?
