40-30-30 plan for eating and lifestyle changes, exercise 30 minutes a day at something that makes you sweat, stress reduction such as biofeedback, detoxing and parasite cleanse.

Yes parasites can make you hang on to body fat.

Crunches and reverse curls do wonders. Sit-ups are too strenuous on your back. Try Yoga stretches.

I read health books and I've maintained a constant weight and I'd be glad to help! The easiest thing you can do is drink water. It sounds simpler said than done, but there re specific methods. Everyday, rigt as you wake up in the morning, drink a full glass of water. Constantly throughout the day, keep a waterbottle with you at all times and try to drink every hour, even if you're not thirsty. Before you go to sleep, drink a glass of water, as this may help your metabolism and also decrease your risk of getting a heart stroke. I HIGHLY suggest eating fruitshakes. By that I mean having your mom put in a blender the following items: water, spinach, celery, frozen blueberries, raspberries, walnuts, almonds, protien powder, banana, apple, baby spinach, pineapple, cashews, grapes and more fruits that you like. I GUARANTEE that if you drink this EVERY MORNING for breakfast for the following 2-3 months, you will lose weight effortlessly and regain natural energy and feel very active. If you do both these things for the following 2-3 months, you will see great results! I've done this before and lost 5 lbs in 5 days, my tummy was gone. Please take this into consideration and please contact me back to see how you did! : J

While there isn't such a thing as spot reducing, you can lose body fat which will make your thighs and tummy smaller. You can also do weight bearing exercises for the thighs and tummy, which will tighten the muscles, making them draw inward toward your body.

The Almighty Squat - this is the BESTEST exercise for the butt, hamstrings, and quadriceps. For the inner and outer thighs, take advantage of the weight machines. For the tummy, there are many exercises for the upper, mid, lower, and outer abs. Do these exercises, and your waist will pull in tighter, making it appear smaller. Doing this won't reduce the fat specifically from this area, but will tighten up the muscles.

About weights in general... do free weights, forget the machines, except for the inner & outer thighs. Machines are good for physical therapy, and also for when you're really tired. Aside from that, stay with free weights, they're the best.

Aim for 60-90 minutes of exercise (both aerobic and anaerobic) on most days.

As for calories: a calorie is a calorie is a calorie. At the end of the day, as long as you've eaten less calories than you've burned, you will lose weight. DO NOT DO A LOW CARB DIET, THEY ARE UNHEALTHY.

Not all carbs were created equal. "Good" carbs are legumes (beans), whole grains, vegetables and fruits. If you eat bread, you might wanna switch to whole wheat flat bread, like whole wheat pita, whole wheat tortilla, and whole wheat lavosh. If you don't like veggies, try roasting them in the oven. They taste DELICIOUS when cooked this way! Really, all vegetables can be roasted, even broccoli and green beans.

Try a different vegetable each week, they're plentiful and DELICIOUS. The more varied they are, the better for you.

As for protein... we need only 8% of our caloric intake to come from protein. It's an important nutrient, but the average American diet has FAR too much protein and fat in it. We need about 4 oz of protein food per day, which is appx the size of a deck of cards. Plant protein is leanest, like soy and nuts and legumes, but if you must, then eat lean animal protein, like fish and turkey. Don't overdo the meat, as someone below me has suggested. This will contribute to cholesterol and fat in your body.

Fats and sugars: eat these very sparingly. Processed foods are loaded with fats, sugars, and salt, which can also bloat you up. I can't eat salt anymore, not after I turned 35. It bloats me up way too big!

I hope this all helps. Best to you!

If you're overweight, diet and exercise will help reduce your trouble spots. However, nothing happens overnight. It takes time and patience to lose weight. Belly fat is probably the hardest area to reduce, but most women seem to carry excess weight in their hips and thighs. In a way, I am sort of envious because my legs are too thin, especially my ankles. I've been trying to gain in the lower extremities, but it just doesn't happen. If I gain a few pounds, it is always in the midsection. We all have different shapes and different concerns about our self image. But I would advise you to join a gym or health club and a personal trainer will help you achieve the shape you desire, along with sensible, healthy eating habits. Good luck!
