i'm 16, 5'5'', weighing 115 pounds. i'd like to put on more weight and get bulkier. but i have a tendency of skipping meals. how do i fix this? i'm also part of the basketball team, which i think drains most of the benefits i get from eating. how do i put on weight and bulk quickly and effectively?

Okay.. I am in the Army and I have effectively "bulked" up (even though I didn't want to) by increasing calories (so no skipped meals) while still eating healthy..and working out on a safe weight lifting regiment. By this, ensure you rest every other day and combo the lifts effectively (you don't have to be Arnold) and you should eat protein to rebuild muscle.

Cardio is good to cut fat, but it keeps you lean. [Not necessarily by bulking you up. ] I'd say if you're tired, you're not eating enough or resting enough and both are important. DON'T FORGET TO DRINK WATER!

Eat protein and work out and lift weights if you can. Try not to skip out on any meals, you should try to eat six meals a day 2-3 hours apart, eating lots of fruits and veggies. I have seen lots of skinny basketball players who are really buff and in good shape. I think you could do it too. Also, seek the help of a health nutritionist (if possible) or your school's P.E. teacher. Hope this helps.

My middle son is very slender. I have him drink Ensure. It is like a shake. This helps him keep weight and energy
