I've tried a variety over the years, from mcafee, norton, avast, I'm no using zone alarm, I find it hard to find a protection prog, that doesn't run my processor so high, it seems they all love to bog down my pc execpt for zone alarm. Yet it doesn't seem to block out the bad guys, I also use a combo of adaware, spybot, registry mechanic, even yahoo anti-spy but it doesn't stop anything. If I'm lucky one or the other will remove the problem t'ill the next time or will cause major problems. can anyone please suggest something...where am i going wrong?? thanks to all....Peace..

Our recommendations are at our web site below...

For ANTISPY I like a combo of Windows Defender and SPYBOT... Neither program is perfect, but the combo is extremely effective (also FREE!)...

For AV, I highly recommend either CA or AVG...
Free links to both at our web site.

Links to all the above software can be found at our web site, with other SAFE COMPUTING hints!

I've used these programs and found AVG to be the best:
Avast
Norton
Mcafee
ZoneAlarm Firewall (Back when it used to have a scanner.)

AVG has simply found more of anything than any other program has, and even the free edition was excellent. I have also used it through quite a large variety of viruses (Back when I didn't know much about computers =D). I am running a 4.1 ghz processor and 3.5gb RAM, so I can't tell you if it will bog your computer down, but it is an excellent program, and I highly recommend it.

I know how you feel,my laptop came with norton 2005 edition which i found really slow,i've even had norton close me down and had to re-format,i've had macafee aswell and found i could'nt get in even with my password,it kept saying invalid password(how is that possible).none of these or the windows defender i had installed got rid of the trogans that i had,as soon as i put on avg 7.4 free version all my troubles went, but,i now also clean my registry every day with a free cleaner called abexo.Do this and hopefully you'll be ok,or maybe i'm just lucky.good luck
