College and Military.
If you have 4 years of good military service and while in you get your 2 year degree in anything (the Air Force has a free community college and all branches will pay for your education), you will be an awesome candidate for most police departments in the country.
Other then that, stay out of trouble.

first of all staying out of jail. Yeah college related courses might help, or you can try applying by urself. In Canada all you need to do is apply and u can even use their gym for free while u practice for ur "exam".

join the marine corps and go into law enforcement....do all you can do there and then go into a police academy ...you will be one of the best.
